    Hi Everyone,

Sorry - things have been a bit delayed again, due to so much work to do on the series itself, but I thought I'd share with you some highlights of my animating life from the past two weeks, starting with, starting with some shots featuring the farmer and Bitzer. The first photo shows a nice 'acting' shot that I had to do, where the farmer is yelling at Bitzet, telling him what to do.

This kind of shot always requires careful timing, since it is purely a performance, and relies more on strong acting than physical action. Sometimes Bitzer's height has to be 'cheated', so that he doesn't look to short when compared to the farmer, so in this shot, although you can't sense it, Bitzer is on a couple of small stilts!

The following two photos show the farmer's truck. In order to animate him I had to take the roof off, move him, then replace the roof before taking the frame. Thanks to the excellent craftsmanship of the model makers, the roof slotted perfectly back in place every time!

Note the wedges of wood either side of the front wheel, in order to keep the truck sturdy when stationary.

    And...the roof is off!

In another shot, lots of props had to be stuck inside buckets using tacky wax...

...And here's a photo from the shot. The block of wood used to support the bucket in the ladder cannot be seen on-screen, and with this kind of shot I have to be very careful not to knock things since, as you can see, there are a lot of fiddly props!

I can't wait for the new shots! It's really awesome!

I just want to thank you for making more of these wonderful animations.  And thank you for switching Bitzer and the farmer back toward the original designs.  I realize this way is probably harder to animate, but the mystery of how you did it was always part of the allure. Removable mouth parts kind of took the wow-factor out of the facial expressions.

I'm very grateful for the effort you folks make.  What wonderful, dear characters!

    Thanks cpurick,

Your kind comments are greatly appreciated. I'm about to attach some more info and photos in a new discussion, so take a look when you get a chance...
