I had a huge crow walking into a doorway, and I had to animate a lightning effect on him. This was achieved by use of controls, that you can see in the 4th picture. The slider on the left controlled the light behind the crow, while the slider next to it controlled the light in front of him. For each frame I moved these sliders to the desired positions, thus acheving the effect of lightning.
