Hello everyone! I thought I'd use my first blog to tell you alittle bit about my job...
As a camera assistant on Shaun the Sheep my job is to set up and maintain all the camera equipment in the studio. Before I set up the camera for a shot I look at a storyboard picture of what the shot is supposed to look like. This tells me things like where on set the camera needs to be pointing.
To finalise this I then have to talk to the lighting cameraman and the director. When the camera is in a position they are happy with and has the right lens on it I have to stick down the tripod so it can't move while the animator is shooting.
So far the longest shot to shoot has taken nearly two weeks, and during all that time I have to make sure that the camera doesn't move!
Here's a couple of photos I took - they are pictures of camera set-ups on set. The strange shaped box on the front of the camera holds a filter in front of the lens, and also helps prevent any light from hitting the lens and causing lens flare.
