it's because when there were only type writers, they keys were in the alphabet, but that made people type fast and that was bad for the type writer, so they changed it to this order of letters to slow them down
its because of the position you hold your hands on the keyboard.

Hey actually...............
BILL GATES MADE THE QWERTY-BET! because he made windows!
timmyforever
because it is in qwerty keyboard
Same as wallace05man, also the letters are placed so that it is unlikely for them to be used at the same time. If to letters were pressed at almost the same time they would get stuck on a type writer.
God Knows !! :P

Hey, Steve Jobs made computers too. Bill Gates didn't invent the computer, as far as I know.
to stop words being mistyped.
and more common letter are futher apart
Bill Gates did not invent computers, they were around before he was born. Typewriters used pieces of metal to print the ink down, the most commonly used letters are put away from each other because on a typewriter the pins would get stuck if one letter went down and the one next to it would come back up. The keys were organised to avoid this. People got use to this and the system was kept for keyboards.
I have got too used to the qwerty keyboard
Ask the person that made it![]()
WHat I was always taught was this; back when typwriters (which get keys stuck when typed on too fast) first came out, their inventors realized very quickly that to have the keys in alphabetical order made it TOO easy for people to type, and it actually slowed typing because keys and other parts got jammed and had to be repaired frequently. That's not a problem anymore, but people have memorized the Qwerty system so no one sees any reason to make things confusing by reverting keyboards.
