Hey all, I am Fluf 1000 and my Club Penguin account is the exact name from here (Fluf 1000). I've seen people making blogs so I thought why not me? You can post anything here providing you aren't being rude to everyone.
Here is a story I made it is called 'The Speech of Team Plasma' and it's for all Pokemon Fans.
Once they said their speech, Unova was never the same again!
The speech, that Team Plasma did, was a horror to the bones of Pokémon lovers, who would always look after their pet.
“What’s going on?” I asked my rival Cheren, as people were running into the middle of the city. We had just started our Pokémon journey and we were in the first ever city we’ve encountered. Ethan was with us.
“Daddy,” A young girl, with a Minccino and brown hair looked at her Dad. “What’s happening?” She pulled her glasses up, making her blue dress shine.
“Team Plasma’s going to speak.” Her father replied, brushing his brown hair.
“That’s right, dear!” Professor Juniper walked towards her, handing her a soft toy. “You left this in my lab.” The toy was a Minccino, smiling. She took it, gratefully.
“Thanks!” She turned round and I saw her happy eyes. “Who’s that, Daddy!” and so her Dad turned round and examined the three of us.
“Pokémon Trainers, sweetheart.” He answered. “You are…”
“Sophie, I’m from Nevuma town. So are these two. This is Cheren and Ethan. We’ve just started our Pokémon journey.”
“I’m too young to start a journey!” sobbed the girl.
“I thought of it that way too.” I kneeled so that I could look at her face-to-face. “Until I realised that I could pretend to be a trainer. I’m certain that you will be a great trainer when you get to!”
“Really?” She looked at my blue eyes, as they seemed to smile at her.
“Of course!” I beamed and the sun came out from behind the clouds.
“Thank you for believing in me.” For such a little girl, she had wonderful manners. I didn’t until I was a few years older than the girl.
“Let’s go and listen to the speech!” Ethan was eager to hear it.
“Very well.” Juniper agreed. So the girl, her father and the rest of us ran towards the sound of trumpets.
“You are most welcome.” Nurse Joy was there, her Pokémon was behind her.
“Thank you.” The man speaking had blonde hair and his right eye had something red covering it. “I’m Ghetsis, leader of The Seven Sages, my son, N has wanted me to do this for a long time!” Another man was there and he nodded. Ghetsis smiled back to him. “And here I think you should all leave now.”
“Why!” I stepped forward, unafraid of anything. “Will you be scaring us?” I joked. Everyone laughed. Ghetsis winced.
“I’ll tell you!” He smirked. “Humans and Pokémon shouldn’t live together…” before he could continue, there was shouts and screaming.
“No!” someone yelled.
“You can’t do that!” another cried.
“You can’t say that! Never mind the ‘do that’!” someone continued. And soon the whole city was drowned in shouts and arguments.
“What’s the point of a Nurse Joy if there are no Pokémon to heal?” Nurse Joy shouted. The little girl closed her eyes and sobbed. She was cuddling her Minccino who was shocked. Ethan was angry and Cheren was frowning. Juniper watched in horror.
I couldn’t believe what Ghetsis was saying. He was even smirking. I looked at their logo. It was a P with a backward Z behind it, like an N rotated, Team Plasma. I knew them well! I would sometimes see them around Route 1. They liked to steal Pokémon!
“Quiet!” I yelled as loud as I could, standing on the grass where Ghetsis was. All the arguments had vanished and you could only hear the wind in the trees and Pokémon cheering in the nearby fields. “Excuse me,” I turned to face the disturber-of-the-peace. “Why should we be separated from beautiful creatures?”
“I agree!” Everyone put their hands in the air.
“Because they aren’t!” answered Ghetsis. “They are horrible creatures. We shouldn’t live side-by-side with them. They are weak!”
“You mean this Pokémon isn’t cute?” I took out my Poké Ball, tossed it up in the air and revealed to everyone that I had a Minccino of my own.
“AWW!” Everyone looked at my cute Chinchilla.
“It isn’t cute at all!” Ghetsis hesitated.
“Well then.” Another voice came into the argument. “Where have you been all your life?” It was the little girl’s father.
“Clear off, Day-Care-couple!” The disturber-of-the-peace beckoned him to go away. The little girl’s mother appeared when he said this.
“Pokémon healers, for your Information!” The wife was as old as the father. She stuck her tongue out.
“Healers are like beggars after money!” Ghetsis snapped. “Like gypsies, they are full of witchcraft.”
“They’re not!” I interrupted, folding my arms and narrowing my eyes. “You are!”
“She’s right!” The little girl cut in. “They are my parents and I would have told you that they were in the first place. End of discussion.”
“As I was saying!” Ghetsis spoke again. “Pokémon are like a horrible animal that you can shoot. Oh, and I’ll take that!” He grabbed the Minccino that the girl was cuddling.
“Give me her back!” She tried to get it but the man held it out of her reach.
“That’s not nice!” Nurse Joy shouted.
“She’s right!” I agreed and there I noticed his red eye was blazing.
“I’m just going to take it and then I’m going to EEEEEK!” He did the ‘kill’ gesture.
“No!” The girl yelled.
“Yes.” He smiled. He squeezed the Pokémon tighter, making it squeal.
“Leave it alone!” I grabbed it.
“Only when you say that humans and Pokémon should be separated.” N watched as his father held it higher out of reach. Then he smirked as he knew what his father was going to do next.
“Teamwork will do it!” Cheren came in. “Everyone, we’re going to need your help! Get that Pokémon out of his hands!”
“Yep, Teamwork will do it.” Ghetsis smiled. “Plasma Grunts, attack!” His smile appeared so fast that if you had blinked, you would have missed it.
“Yes sir!” The medieval knights saluted and threw out their Pokémon.
“Everyone, use you strongest Pokémon against them!” commanded Ethan. Everyone battled the Plasma Grunts and all their Pokémon fainted. I grabbed the Chinchilla Pokémon out of his hand and I gave it to the girl.
“Thanks, again!” She cuddled Minccino and we all went back down, all but me.
“If you think that I was going to let you take that Pokémon, think again!” I looked eye-to-eye with Ghetsis, turned and went down.
“I’m sorry I’m late!” Bianca, my other rival, walked over, exhausted. “What have I missed?”
“I’ll tell ya later!” Cheren gripped her hand and led her to where we were.
“As I was saying, humans have long been happy when there was no Pokémon, and then suddenly these animals appeared and we have caught them, traded them and battled them. More of them come as well. We should destroy them.” Everyone shivered, even me.
“I disagree.” I had calmed down and was speaking quietly.
“You can’t do that!” Ethan shouted.
“Watch me! Smoke Screen, Grunts!” Smoke gathered and made a mist for a few seconds and we were all coughing and spluttering. When it cleared, they were gone.
“I thought that speech was incredible!” N went into the grass where we had just seen Ghetsis. “My father loves to leave with style…”
“And greed!” I added.
“No interruptions!” He hissed like a snake. “He loves to leave with style and…”
“Pokémon and nastiness!” I continued. Everyone laughed.
“SHUT UP!” He roared like a lion and all fell silent. “I think you should have a battle with me!” He pointed to me. I went onto the grass and beamed.
“Sure!”
“One on one will do it!”
“I only have two so that’s fair!”
“Go, pussy cat, go!” His Purrloin came out. The cat purred happily.
“Oshawott use Water Gun!” KO! The pussy fainted.
“RRRRRRRRRRR!” He sighed. “GGGGGRRRRR!!!!!” He looked angrily at me. I shrugged my shoulders.
“I’m sorry. How was I to know that my Oshawott was that strong?” Everyone laughed once again. I suppressed my lips because I didn’t want to get into trouble with him.
“I’m going and you will be sorry when I find you again! You will lose!” And he vanished. Then the town went back to normal, well almost…
“Are you alright, Minccino?” The little girl cradled her Minccino that was squealing.
“Let’s take it to the Pokémon Center!” I suggested. We did.
“I’ll take a look at her!” Nurse Joy took Minccino and the little girl watched from the window.
“What’s your name?” I asked.
“Edie.” She did a half smile.
“You were very brave! You would be great as a trainer!” I patted her on the back to give her some comfort.
“I’ve never had a trainer battle.” She sighed.
“You will soon. I’ll come and visit you! How about my Minccino against yours?”
“Deal!” Edie smiled. We watched Nurse Joy examine it then she shook her head. “If it heals.” A tear slowly rolled down her face. Nurse Joy came out.
“It’s been poisoned! A very bad one. The last of the Antidote was stolen and I haven’t been able to get any.” The Nurse explained. “Team Plasma did it!”
“Is there any way to heal it?” asked Edie. She shook her head.
“I’m sorry…” The nurse tried to comfort her. Edie had tears. That was her partner, and has been, since she was a baby.
Suddenly a woman with long silky blue hair and blue eyes, wearing a lab coat and had glasses, ran over into the Center. “I heard from Juniper that someone’s been poisoned... Oh!” She saw the poor Minccino becoming faint. “Munna, take the poison off.” Her Dream Eater Pokémon took the poison away and Minccino was healed again. “I’m Professor Fennel, Juniper’s partner.” Juniper came into the Center and said hello to her.
“I think you should get going on your journey!” Juniper looked at me, her green eyes were sparkling.
“Will do!” I replied.
“What do I do?” Edie asked. “Do I stay here?”
“No, you can go with her until she goes to her second Gym. She has to do her first one just now.” Fennel answered.
“Alright.”
“Let’s go!” I beckoned Ethan, Cheren and Bianca to come. We all walked into Route 2 with confidence.
When we walked towards the first Gym, a black haired lady came towards me.
“Wait! Do you want some monkeys to come along with you, Sophie?”
“Huh?” How did she know my name?
“Here’s a Pokémon, Pansear.” She handed me a Poké Ball. “Panpour for you.” She gave Cheren a Poké Ball. “And that leaves Pansage for you, Bianca.”
“You know my name?” Bianca watched as the girl laughed like a parrot.
“I know everything off by heart!” She winked. “Ethan, here’s Pansear for you.” She had a spare. “Ah, the young Edie.” She leaned closer to her. “What would you like?”
“Panpour please!” She took it gladly.
“Now I think I’ll give N Pansage!” She ran so fast that if you had blinked you would have missed her.
“So I’ve got a fire type monkey.” Ethan spoke again. “And you’ve got it as well. Cheren’s got Panpour and Edie’s got Panpour which is effective against Sophie and my Pansear and Bianca has a Pansage. So that means that we are all equal.”
“Now let’s go and challenge the Three Gym Leaders and get the Tri Badge!” I yelled and held my Badge Case up in the air.
“Minccino!” My Minccino jumped happily on my shoulder. I laughed.
“Here we are!” Edie smiled. “The City with your first Badge. Let’s go!” Cheren and Bianca hugged each other.
“Yes!” I agreed. We ran as fast as we could, all the way to the gym and try to get the Tri Badge.
In the gym and saw Cilan, Cress and Chili. “I want to battle you!” I spoke to Cilan.
“What’s your starter Pokémon?”
“Oshawott!”
“Then you’re up against me. Pansage, I’m going to need your help!” his monkey Pokémon came out.
“Pansear, help me!” My monkey came out…
Bianca went over to the water type Gym Leader, Cress. “I believe I’m to battle you if my partner Pokémon is Tepig?”
“Yep,” He smirked like the cat who managed to get the cream. “Come out!”
“Out you come, Pansage!” Bianca called out her grass type monkey…
Cheren went over to the fire type Leader.
“Come on out, Pansear!”
“Come on out, Panpour!” And so their battle began…
“Use Incinerate!” My monkey flew boiling hot flames at Pansage and… KO!
“Here’s the badge, Sophie. Well done!” I patted myself on the back. I did it! I thought.
“Use Bullet Seed!” Bianca’s monkey threw seeds at the water type and… KO!
“Here’s the Tri Bade, Bianca. Well done!” She smiled. 1 down, 7 to go! She thought.
“Use Water Gun!” Cheren’s monkey used it and the other monkey fainted.
“Take this bade.” Chili smiled. “Well done!” I just got my first badge! He thought.
“WE ALL GOT THE TRI BADGE!” We yelled. Ethan won a battle and got the badge as well. We all smiled.
“I’d better go back to the Pokémon Day Care now.” Edie saw the sun was setting.
“I’ll visit you soon!” I beamed and she smiled back. And away she ran, back into her City and into her home just when the moon rose.
“Do you want to sleep here?” We hadn’t noticed that Fennel had come to us. She was pointing to her lab.
“That’s very kind of you but…”
“No buts!” She interrupted. “I insist you sleep there!” She led us to the lab and we found a place where we could sleep.
“Thank you…”
“No thanks is necessary, Sophie. Just sleep.” She smiled. I did so that I could get my strength back.
It was morning and the birds were tweeting. I stretched and smiled.
“5th call for breakfast!” Ethan grinned and I rolled my eyes.
“You always say that to annoy me!” was my answer. “I wish you hadn’t said that.” I clutched my stomach. “I’m starving!”
“Dig in!” Fennel spoke.
“It’s very kind of you but…”
“No buts!” she shook her head. “Just have it!”
“Sometimes she is too friendly!” whispered Ethan. I couldn’t resist giggling.
“You were saying…” Fennel looked at us.
“Um… I said that… uh, she is so kind!” He smiled, stupidly. I had to laugh!
“Mmm. Interesting…” She turned round and saw her Munna with the poison that Edie’s Minccino had. “This is a new type of poison.” I looked and saw a bottle that Munna had found with the Plasma logo on it. “Plasma poison.”
“We need to get rid of it all!”
“I’ll research into this. And you need to get all your badges!” Fennel watched as Bianca was packing some of her food.
“I thought that I should pack something in case we ran out…” Bianca shrugged her shoulders.
“Yes and I think that you should stop stuffing your bag because it is overflowing.” answered the wise Professor. I smiled. Bianca blushed because she hadn’t noticed that the bag was going to burst. She took most of the treats out. “Now, you go and battle your next Gym.”
“Right.” I nodded. “Let’s go, gang.”
“Okay.” Everyone cried. So off we ran, into the next city.
“RRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGG!!” My Xtransceiver was ringing. It was my Mom, smiling at me.
“Hello, dear, just checking how my little Pokémon Mistress is.” She winked.
“MOM!” I blushed. “You’re embarrassing me in front of my friends.”
“Min, min, min.” Minccino climbed back on my shoulder, after walking on the ground. “Minccino!” She finally got to my shoulder and beamed into the Xtransceiver. “Min!”
“Hello, Minccino.” Mom beamed. “By the way, look behind you.” Her voice echoed from behind me. I turned round and there she was, standing there. I couldn’t resist smiling. “Hi, love. I was tidying your room, you know when you had a battle indoors that wrecked the whole room, and I found your old Running Shoes. You’ll run about faster. I found four others so you can all have them.” She handed my friends a pair of shoes. I put them on.
“Thank you.”
“It’s alright.” and with that, she walked away.
“Wait, Mom!” I ran after her.
“Minccino!” My Minccino called her. She turned round.
“What is it, honey?” She smiled. I looked just like her only I was younger than her.
“Stay!” I beckoned her to come. “Stay with us!”
“I need to tidy your room.” She sighed. “Well, I suppose I could postpone it just now!”
“Come on then!” I then realised that I was running faster than the fastest runner at the school I used to go to. I grabbed Mom by the hand.
“I don’t have Running Shoes, remember.” She laughed. I smiled back at her.
“Just hold on!” I told her. Ethan, Bianca and Cheren ran beside me away from the City where I got the Tri Badge into Nacrene City. Minccino was gripping my shoulder. And so I entered the Gym and found a secret staircase where I was positive the Gym Leader Lenorna was inside. I ran down the steps, still gripping my Mom who was panting. Finally, after five minutes, we got to the bottom and saw the Gym Leader.
“So.” She began. “You wish to challenge me?”
“Of course. Why would you think I’ve come down here?” She laughed.
“Nothing, dear. I was joking!” She gave me a nudge. “Well, let’s begin!”
“Pansear, you’re on!” My fire-type monkey came out.
“Lillipup, come out!”
“Woof.” Then it started panting.
“Shadow Ball!” Lenorna commanded.
“Dodge.” She jumped clear out the way. “Flamethrower!”
“Dodge!” The Gym Leader commanded but the dog wasn’t quick enough and got hit by the fire. “What’s this? How could this happen?”
“Incinerate!” The monkey fired some flames which went round the dog, confusing it, and then went into the dog and… The dog fell to the ground.
“Woof.” came the dog’s croaky voice.
“Sophie wins.” Mom declared. Lenorna smiled.
“Well done.” She congratulated me. “But you need to fight one more Pokémon. Watchog!” She threw her Poké Ball up in the air and the Pokémon came out.
“Oshawott, come on out!” My little sea otter came out.
“Hypnosis!” Lenorna smiled.
“Oshawott, defend yourself with…” I had never thought of it before and the attack was coming this way. “…with you shell!” I pointed to her shell on her tummy. She took it off and protected herself.
“What’s this?” Lenorna looked at my otter and I noticed she was gripping her shell and was attacking Watchog with it. “She learned Razor Shell!”
“That means that she is close to evolving!” I smiled at her. I hadn’t realised that Watchog had fainted.
“Sophie wins.” Mom declared. “Again.” She added in. I laughed.
“Here’s your badge. Well done…” She handed me the Basic Badge then suddenly…
“Are you here, Lenorna?” Her scientist came in, his face full of sweat.
“What’s up?”
“Lenorna… Thank goodness… that I’ve found you! Well… It’s just that… um, the…”
“Out with it!” She demanded. He took a deep breath and spoke.
“Team Plasma has taken the Dragonite skeleton head off it and has headed off for the Pinwheel Forest that is next door to us!”
“We’ll need to get there immediately!” Lenorna spoke. “Sophie, you go with the Gym Leader of Castelia City into the forest and you, Bianca, Cheren and Ethan go and make sure no trainer comes in the gym while I’m gone.” She looked up and saw my two rivals and Ethan walking down the staircase.
“How come I get to stay here?” Bianca sulked. “Wait a minute, how do you know my name?”
“I need someone and Sophie needs to get past the forest so that she can go into Castelia City. I know everyone’s name.” She winked. “Sophie’s mother told me.” I went out so that I was at the front of the Gym to meet the Bug-type Gym Leader.
“Come on, Sophie!” I watched as he swooped from the treetops and landed in front of me so I could see his large orange hair and small, green eyes. He wore a red scarf and on his brown belt was a butterfly. “As you can see, I love bug types!” I laughed with him. His laugh and voice was so silvery like a whisper in the trees. “I’m the Gym Leader of Castelia City the name’s Burgh.”
“Lenorna sent me to come with you.”
“Yes.” He nodded. “But be careful as the forest is quite dark. You might encounter Pokémon there so be wary.”
“I will.” WHOO-HOO!!! I thought, I get to go with the Gym Leader into Pinwheel Forest! “Thank you for your consideration.” I thought of my manners.
“Well, bugs or no bugs, we need to get over there fast. I know this isn’t lady-like but can you put your arm round my neck?”
“What?”
“DO IT!” My Minccino gripped on to my shoulder. “And you’ll be safer on my shoulder.” He picked her up and put her on his shoulder. “Now, put your arm round my neck.”
“Um, okay.” I reached up and… he lifted me as if I only weighed a feather. Ethan came out and stood guard at the door way of the gym and he saw me, putting my arm round his neck. He was jealous and thought I had another boyfriend. “Whoah! Can’t you slow down!? AAAAA!” He was swinging from branch to branch with only one hand, as the other was holding me.
“Sorry, Sophie, I can’t.” He sighed as he did a 270o turn on a tree. “Anyway, I was able to swing on trees before I could walk. We’re almost there!” I screamed as he jumped down off a branch that was high off the ground and he landed in the grass. “You alright?” He helped me up. I bumped into his face.
“Sorry.” I blushed. “Yes. Are you?”
The Gym Leader placed Minccino in my arms. “Of course.” He smiled and I realised that he was acting like Ethan, like a boyfriend.
“Anyway, we have to get going!”
“Yep!” He agreed. We ran at full speed and finally we came to an area where the fog had vanished.
“Well done, my good solider,” N beamed. “You did well, didn’t he father?” The Team Plasma grunt, a man, was now kneeling.
“Yes indeed.” Ghetsis nodded, smirking. “Soon we shall…”
“Not while I’m around!” I ran forwards.
“You again?” asked N’s father. “How delightful, you brought a Pokémon. How thoughtful!” He snatched it away.
“No you don’t!” Burgh sprinkled some sleeping potion on him and quickly took away the Chinchilla Pokémon before Ghetsis crashed to the ground in a deep sleep.
“GGGGRRRR!!!!” N watched me thanking the bug type Gym Leader. “Another battle?”
“Fine!” I sighed. “Minccino, I choose you!”
“Purrloin, come forth!” He tossed his Poké Ball and she came out. “Scratch!”
“Dodge!” She did and the cat missed her. “Now, Hyper Voice!” She curled up her ears and yelled.
“CCCCIIINNNOOOO!!!!!!” There was a loud echo through Pinwheel Forest. Ethan heard it and raced towards the sound, leaving behind Bianca and Cheren who were still arguing about which one of their Pokémon is stronger. Suddenly the voice died down and the pussy cat was confused and was dancing, crashing into things.
“Tickle, Minccino, tickle!” I commanded. She put her tail under the cat’s arm and tickled the cat with it. The cat shortly fainted.
“Return you worthless piece of junk!” He let it out after, as it was now healed. “You know what this is?” He held up the Poké Ball. Then he threw it onto the ground and stood on it, breaking it. “You are no longer welcome! Be away with you!”
“Wait. Please, pussy cat. Would you like to come with me?” It nodded and I took out one of my own Poké Balls and it went inside. “You are heartless.”
“I am heartless alright! I wanted to marry someone but she was secretly engaged to another man and I have never looked at a girl since. So now I am a heartbroken man.” It was this bit when you felt sorry for him. I shook that bit out my mind, my hair going all over the place. “Here’s the skeleton head you’re looking for!” He gave it to me. Ethan came towards me, curiously.
“Are you okay?” He asked.
“I’m fine.” I replied, smiling a little.
“I’m going to go back to my gym and I hope to see you soon.” And with that, he swooped and jumped around the Forest back into Castelia City, the largest city in Unova. I sighed as I had to go back into Nacrene City to return the Skeleton head and then rested for tomorrow.
“Thank you very much, Sophie!” Lenora patted my back.
In the morning, I was told by my mother to go into a school for two hours to study. Ethan was to join me. “Now, that you have studied all you need to know, you may now do the dance.” the teacher beamed like an annoying person.
“What dance?” I asked the teacher.
“Hush!” She frowned. “The festival dance. You need a boy and a girl. How about Sophie and Ethan to demonstrate.”
And so the music came on and we danced, happily, around the classroom and other children joined in. Sooner or later we were on Cloud 10, but I am now certain that it was Cloud 100, dancing the hour away until we all went away and never returned there. I found about how people knew our names like the woman with dark hair who had a Pansear for me. She had a Pokémon that could read people’s minds so it would tell her what the name was and she would understand.
When the day ended, I continued my journey again. I went over to Castelia City with Bianca, Mom and Ethan. Cheren decided to stay in Nacrene City because he wanted to train his Pokémon, there, so that he could battle mine and win. First we had to walk on The Sky Arrow Bridge, a large bridge that joins Nacrene City with Castelia City. Mom had run home, wearing my Running Shoes, to get her Cubchoo, a polar bear, in case Team Plasma came into the large City and returned.
I couldn’t resist looking at the salty sea water. I saw a green boat on the shore. Where does that boat go? I asked myself.
“Now this is what I call BIG!” Bianca noticed the large Pokémon Center. There were five docks and people were playing with a Tepig, Snivy, and Oshawott.
As you can see from the picture I quickly sketched it is BIG, with alleys in between buildings. There was an Ice Cream van that you could go to on Tuesdays. In the distance I drew the Sky Arrow Bridge. A red ship was over in the Far East (→) that I also wondered where it goes.
“The red one travels to the Island beyond.” Mom answered my question inside my head. “But only Pokémon Champions can go.” She sighed then shook the idea out her mind, the idea of going away from Unova and discovering an Unknown world.
I then had a flashback I have had before, that I can really remember.
I was five years old and I couldn’t sleep.
I was with Mom. She was holding me, trying to calm me down but I didn’t. I felt no comfort.
“It’s alright…” She started.
“No it’s not alright!” I sobbed.
“Shh.” She wiped my tears away. “You’re wrong.” Mom cuddled me and sang a song.
“There’s a whole new world out there,
It’s a miracle to see,
Like the colours of the Rainbow,
It’s our living sympathy.
So open your eyes,
It’s easy to do,
Just take the time,
And look all around you,
Never Forget,
This is a beautiful world!” Mom hugged me and I felt drowsy. She lifted me into bed and turned out the lights. “Goodnight dear.” Her eyes crinkled, and she shut the door, and once again it was a dark and unhappy in my room again. I managed to sleep unhappily, even though she had calmed me down.
My flashback vanished and here I was, gazing at the red boat. “It must be nice.” I watched as the boat paddled away into the distance.
“I’m going to go away for a moment. Come on Bianca.” Mom and Bianca walked away, leaving me alone with Ethan.
“Do you like that bug liking Gym Leader?” Ethan’s face was getting angrier.
“No, we are just friends not…”
“I know that you are boyfriend-girlfriend. You don’t need me anymore!” He was about to lose his temper so I didn’t dare to say anything else. “And I don’t need you anymore!” He shouted and then he stomped away. When the sun set, I walked over into one of the alleys to take me to the park with a fountain where I could see my reflection, a sorrow face with watery eyes. I looked beyond the fountain and noticed a boy and girl together.
“I’m so sorry.” The boy spoke to his girlfriend. “Alice, I love you.”
“I love you too, Richard.” and they hugged each other and walked off together.
I was now alone. I then thought of how blind I have been. Then I sang a song my mother taught me.
“I’m not a Princess,
This ain’t a fairy tale,
I’m not the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her out the stairwell.
This ain’t Hollywood,
There was a small town,
I was a dreamer for you and you let me down.
Now it’s too late for you can your white horse, to come around.
It’s too late to catch me now…” I couldn’t finish the song as tears began to fall from my face. I saw my reflection. One of my tears landed in the pool and my image in the watery world was blurry. I looked away, and I saw Ethan, smiling.
“I thought you were my fairy tale,
I dream of when you’re sleeping.
My wish upon a star,
Just won’t come true!” He walked up to me. When I was going to hug him, he vanished. It was just my mind playing tricks on me!
“Sophie!” he called again. Come on, Sophie. It’s just you! I thought. “Sophie!” The voice echoed. There Ethan was, running up to me. It looked like he had been crying. “I was jealous and I just don’t want you to have a boyfriend!”
“Why not?”
“Because you already have one.” was his reply.
“Who?” I think I knew the answer but I asked anyway.
“Me.” I beamed and so did he. “I was so lucky to have met you!” And so we kissed and ran off to see where Mom and Bianca were.
“We want to go through!” Mom was arguing with a girl Team Plasma grunt, Minccino was on Mom’s shoulder. Another girl, with purple, puffy hair and cheerful eyes, was arguing as well.
“You can’t.”
“We will.” I replied.
“You again!” The male grunt groaned. “I was being knighted when you interrupted me in the Pinwheel Forest! Remember?”
“How could I forget?” I giggled.
“They’ve got Munna!” Bianca had tears.
“You mean that Pokémon you caught at The Dreamyard?” I asked. She nodded. While we were in the city, where we got the Tri Badge, she ran off when we weren’t looking and caught one there. She told me this after we got the Tri Badge.
“This is Iris. She is the Gym Leader…”
“You mean was the Gym Leader of the last town you go to.” She continued.
“Nice to meet you...” I knew she wasn’t listening to me.
“What have you got against Munna?” She demanded.
“Nothing, we need it to get our poison full of Toxic!” The girl grunt explained. The man whacked her.
“Idiot! Big Mouth! Fool!” While he said these words, he hit her. “You are a Disgrace and a Chatter Box!” Because Iris had distracted them, we ran inside while the male grunt was swearing and kicking his companion.
“What, Ouch, had I done? OW!” She shrugged her shoulders and I suppressed my lips again as I looked out the door to them.
“Give me back Munna, Team Plasma!” commanded Bianca. I turned round.
“Spoil Sport!” One of the male knights yelled.
“Now, now.” Ghetsis calmed his friend down. N was beside his father, smiling as usual.
“I might as well tell you that I am head of Team Plasma.” N interrupted.
“Since when?” I asked.
“Since I was old enough!”
“I’m not surprised that you did because your father is a horrible bad-tempered old villain!” I replied. Ethan was shocked but bit his lip, trying not to laugh. Ghetsis’s face had turned tomato red and was angry. “And before you say anything, it is your fault because you joined a stupid team!” I was impressed with myself. I looked to my right and I noticed Mom giving me a look saying, don’t speak anymore, leave this to me! I nodded. So Mom coughed and spoke.
“Excuse me,” Mom started. “um... Ghetsis. I would like you to return Munna before we send you to the police and you won’t be able to steal anymore.” He took it seriously and handed over Bianca’s Munna. She cuddled her and returned her to her Poké Ball. “Thank you and you may want to leave this room before the officers come!” Ghetsis was worried and dashed out the room. N was the last to leave and looked at me in suspicion. I looked like I had nothing to hide and it was all true.
“I will battle you and your Pokémon will be injured badly.” I winced as he took out the Plasma Poison and sprinkled it on all the Poké Balls he had. After that he went outside. When they had left, we all started laughing. Then I had an idea!
“Excuse me,” I spoke to the boatman of the green ship. “Does this ship go to Nacrene City?” He nodded and I got on. “I’ll be back soon so stay here!” I shouted to Mom and my friends as they waved goodbye to me. Once I got off the boat, I ran over to where Fennel lived. I knocked on her door. She opened it.
“Goodness gracious me!” I was panting. “Come inside and warm yourself by the fire.”
“Really I’m...”
“No I won’t allow it!” She led me to the fire and I felt much better. Minccino was on my shoulder, relaxing. “Now, what can I do for you?”
“Please, Fennel.” I began, “Do you have an Antidote for the Plasma Poison?”
“Yes I do. And you are wondering if you may borrow some...” She rummaged about her drawers until she found the Antidote. “Poffins are the only things strong enough to cure it. I’ll give you recipe instructions or you can visit me soon. Would you like to sleep here tonight?”
“I think I should go back.” was my answer. She nodded.
“I thought maybe you should stay here and snuggle down in my bed.”
“No I shouldn’t...”
She handed me the Poffins. “Take care then.”
“Thank you!” I looked deeply into her dark blue eyes.
“My pleasure. Look after yourself! Come and visit anytime!”
“I shall.” I waved to her and I ran on ahead. Minccino was still on my shoulder, sleeping. “And I will take care!” I shouted from the top of my voice. I ran as fast as I could go. I hoped on the boat just as it was going to leave and made it just in time for 11 o’clock at night. “I decided to get the Antidote!” I then explained all about my plans. “That way,” I ended it. “we will be able to cure our Pokémon.” We were staying in the Pokémon Center.
“Very cleaver!” Mom rubbed my hair, making it all messy. Sophie means cleaver you see!
“Yes, quite.” Bianca smiled, frowning at the same time.
“I agree.” Ethan hugged me. I knew that we would always be friends forever.
“Come on.” I blushed. “It was a thought! I just knew it was the right thing to do. Stop embarrassing me!” I liked them doing this, always making sure that I blush. That’s what I like about them. “Somehow, we’ve got to beat Team Plasma.” and for once in my lifetime, I felt confident.
“This is a sudden attitude.” Ethan laughed.
“Gemini people always do that.” I winked. Gemini people are born from May until June. I was born on the 20th of June so that is me. Everyone laughed and then we all went to sleep.
Morning came so fast that if you had blinked when the sun was rising, you would have missed it. Iris was going to travel around the place before joining us again.
“Today’s the day I’m entering the Gym!” I declared. I ran forward.
“Wait up!” Cheren called. He was back! I beamed.
I went entered the Gym first. It was like a maze, a rainforest full of secret passageways. People came out of nowhere, asking me to battle them before battling the Gym Leader. I battled bravely with Minccino. Pansear was battling with all her life and took down all the bug types. Then I was at the front of the hall, face-to-face, with the man who liked me. He had three Pokémon but my Pansear and Oshawott and Minccino took down them all.
“This can’t be! No-one has been able to beat my Pokémon before!” He was disappointed and shocked. “All well, here’s the badge.” He handed me the Beetle Badge.
“I got my third badge!” I held it high in the air. Minccino went onto my shoulder and smiled.
“Min!” She squeaked softly. When I got outside, there was my Mom and my rivals looking at me.
“Well...” Mom began.
“I got the badge.” I told her. “But I think that this is where we all part ways. I’m sorry but I think we should.”
“Totally agree.” Bianca nodded, having respect for my opinion. “I’ll go on my journey with Cheren and we’ll go into the gym just now.”
“I’ll go back home and tidy up before it gets to autumn.” Mom answered, laughing happily. “Bye, dear!” She hugged me. And with that she turned and went on the boat.
“Mom!” I called to her. “I’m sorry we should part ways...”
“It’s alright.” She waved and disappeared into Nacrene City and walked home from there, glad that she had had a great time with me.
“And I’ll go with Ethan. I’m sure we’ll meet again!” We all promised that we would meet again when we had four badges each. Bianca and Cheren went into the Gym while Ethan, who just got the third badge, came with me into Nimbasa City.
“Help,” An old man cried. “Help!” He ran towards me and I saw that it was Edie’s father. Edie ran beside him, unable to speak. She was so pale.
“What’s the matter?” Ethan cuddled the girl, who was cradling her Minccino, who looked like she just had the shock of her life.
“Grunts... millions of ‘em! Thousands!” The old man panted. I gave him some water from the well and he got better. “Bless you, Sophie!” Then he took a deep breath. “Team Plasma grunts showed up at the day care, demanding us to hand over the Pokémon that we were looking after.”
“We said no and they dragged us and brought us here. Now they want our money!” Edie was gasping for a breath. “So we ran for our lives as they were demanding us for it!” I ran over to a fountain again and gave her a drink. “Thanks.” just as she said that...
“Come back here!” The male and the female grunts that I saw in Castelia City called. I watched as they went down the steps. Edie and her father went behind us.
“You’re strong, Sophie.” Edie whispered. “Please can you save us?”
“Sure.” was my reply.
“Purrloin!” The female grunt made her cat come out its Poké Ball.
“Oshawott, Razor Shell!” My otter swung her shell round and round, whacking it hard on the pussy. It fainted.
“Here’s your money back!” She handed Edie’s father the £400 back.
“You still have me...”
“I’ll do the honours.” Ethan stood in front of me. “Pansear, come on out!” His monkey came out, full of giggles.
“Sandile!” He tossed the Pokémon Ball and he crocodile came out, snapping its teeth and opening its mouth wide. “Hyper Beam!”
“It doesn’t know that move!” I yelled but the crock used it going straight towards Pansear, making a tornado appear. The monkey didn’t flee but it used Flamethrower, destroying the tornado and sending the little crocodile to the ground.
“You learned a new move!” He high-fived his monkey friend. “Well done! Just in the nick of time!” his monkey beamed brighter.
“Here’s the other two hundred quid.” The male grunt groaned again. “Just don’t tell the boss okay?”
“Got it.” We smiled.
“Let’s get outta here!” coughed the male grunt. They ran into the distance.
“Thanks, again!” Edie spoke. “We have a gift for you. Papa!” Her Dad came with two bicycles, one red and one blue. He handed me the red one and gave the blue one to Ethan. “It will help you go about faster than your Running Shoes!” She winked. “Oh and please drop by at out Pokémon Day care Center if you need Pokémon levelled up. Bye! Come on Daddy!” She beckoned her father to come with her back to Route 3 and into her home.
“Now that we’ve got bikes, shall we enter Nimbasa City?” Ethan nodded. We did. “Wow. Look at all the buildings!” I exclaimed, not able to contain my excitement. “There’s a Ferris Wheel!” I saw that the windows of the Ferris Wheel were like Poké Balls. I went into the Pokémon Center to store my Purrloin into a box.
“I’m going to check out the Pokémon Musical!” Ethan waved at me and went.
“Woof, woof.” A little Lillipup was roaming about Nimbasa City, without anyone to care for it. Team Plasma had captured him and he managed to escape. It was all alone in the world. It had been injured, and had bruises and scars.
“Are you alright?” I was also roaming about Nimbasa City and I came across her. She shook her head. “Would you like to come with me?” It nodded. I caught her and she was my partner! “What happened to you?” I let her out and she explained all about what happened to her, with some translation from Minccino. “That’s terrible! Those villains!”
“What was that, Sophie?” N was there, eyes wide. He knew something that I didn’t. “Little bird told me my grunts have given the Day care couple back their £600. Oh and I heard that you had put your Purrloin in the box inside the Pokémon Center. I’ve decided to take it back.”
“Go ahead...”
“With the Plasma Poison on the Poké Ball!” He grinned.
“That would hurt it!” I was worried.
“It does but they obey me only! Now I think we should discuss things like this somewhere else. Any suggestions?”
“The Ferris Wheel.” I thought quickly.
“Exactly!” He nodded and we got on it. “When my lover told me of her engagement, she gave me the pussy cat, the part of my heart but it just made it emptier. Pokémon are weak!” He shouted. We were at the top now.
“They aren’t!” I looked at the view. “They are strong when you have friendship with them. I thought that the older you get the wiser you are, not the other way round.”
“They should be apart!”
“No they shouldn’t, N,” I declared. Minccino was wincing when he talked about how weak Pokémon were. “and that’s that!”
“Just wait until the ride’s finished!” N crossed his arms and waited, stamping his foot.
“Why don’t you look at the view? It might make you feel better.” I suggested.
“No thank you!” He snapped. “Hate it!” When the ride stopped, our battle began...
“Oshawott, come out, my little sea otter!” My darling came out and winked. I thought she was the best starter Pokémon you could get in the Unova region! I was so lucky to have been born then! “Hydro Pump on Darumakka!” N’s Pokémon was knocked out in a number of seconds.
“Oshawott!” My Pokémon yelped in pain. It was the poison.
“Eat this.” I whispered and I took one of the Poffins out. “Please let this work!” She was full healed in a flash. “Now return. A job well done!” I complimented.
“Pussy cat!” He called. “Come forth!” It didn’t. He was mad. He had sprinkled too much poison on it! “COME OUT!” It did. Its eyes were glowing green, it was under a spell! I had read in books that the only way to beat a Pokémon like this was to use some Pokémon it’s afraid of. I rummaged about my bag and there I spotted a Pokémon that would frighten it, Lillipup.
“Lillipup!” She came out.
“Woof, woof.” She panted.
“Shadow Ball!” I remembered Lenora saying that in her gym match so I wondered if my dog could do that move too... Yes it used it! The cat shrieked and ran everywhere. Finally, her eyes came back to the normal green.
“Meow?” It asked as it saw me.
“Can I take it back N?” I questioned him.
“Alright, take the stupid cat away...”
“They are cleaver, not stupid.” The cat smiled as if it had got the cream. I brought it back into my Poké Ball.
“Now, return, Lillipup and good job!” I stroked it.
“Woof!” It was smiling.
“Last Pokémons are luck!” N kissed the Poké Ball and then threw it. A Pansage appeared, no not a Pansage but its evolved form, Simisage.
“Pansear!” I called the fire type out again. “Flamethrower!” It used it. The grass type monkey on the other side jumped and dodged. “Heat Stamp!” Simisage didn’t dodge but got up again. “Let’s heat this up...” Ethan ran over and saw me, having a battle with N but decided to watch. “Use Flamethrower and Incinerate at the same time!” She did and there was boiling hot fire going towards the foe. N smiled.
“Protect!” The monkey had a wall of protection and all the fire didn’t vanish but broke right through the bar of Protection. Simisage fainted. I had won! “This is just the beginning!” He roared.
“Fine.” I answered. Ethan was impressed with my techniques and reviled himself that he was there. “I best be off!” I waved to N. Ethan followed me. Then I was glad that I had gone away from there. “Now I’m going to take Purrloin to the Day care so that Edie has some company and also so that she can train it.” I did and they took it in gladly.
“Very kind of you.” Edie’s mother, Edith, smiled like no other person, like a person smiling into your soul. It felt nice!
“Yes it is!” Edie’s father, Edward, asked about how the bike was.
“I’ve never had anything like it! It was like the ride of life here!” We all laughed. “We’d better not disturb you again so we’ll go.”
“Thank you very much!” Edie hugged me. “It’s a lovely gift!”
“Anytime. Goodbye!” And we left and went into Nimbasa City where Bianca and Cheren were. Bianca was confronting her father for some reason.
“Why can’t I do this journey?”
“I told you not to go on your journey!” He shouted. “We care about you and you shouldn’t do anything we don’t tell you to do!”
“But...” She swallowed. “But you mustn’t tell me what to do all the time!”
“Exactly.” Cheren continued.
“She’s right.” Another person joined in. It was a woman with blonde hair and light blue eyes, the Gym Leader of Nimbasa City, Elesa. “Let her go on her journey and you do whatever you want to do.”
“Oh very well!” Her father spoke, calming down. “I’ll let you off this time.” And he walked away.
“I’ve seen it all before (Déjà Vu you call it). I’m Elesa by the way! I’ve normally Déjà Vu around here. Oh hello!” She turned and saw Ethan and me.
“I’m Sophie.” I told her. “This is Ethan. I guess you’ve already met my two rivals, Bianca and Cheren.”
“Nice to meet you.” She shook hands with me and Ethan, smiling warmly. “I’m in my Gym when you wish to challenge me.” I watched as she walked slowly over to her gym, winking at Cheren. He pulled his glasses up and coughed.
“Well, now we’re back together.” When Cheren said that, I decided to sing this bit that I had made up:
“We’re all in this together,
We’re all in this forever,
If Pokémon disappear,
There won’t be a perfect year,
Whoah, oh, oh, oh.
We have different names,
But we’re all the same,
Whoah, oh, oh, oh OH.” I hugged Ethan. He smiled. Bianca hugged Cheren and Cheren rubbed her back. “I think we should go and challenge her! She has electric types.” So that rules out Oshawott. Pansear might be better so I travelled to Castelia City to find a stone that would evolve her.
“Excuse me,” An old lady came towards me, eyes glittering with wisdom. “Want a Fire Stone?” I nodded slowly. “You’ve come to the right place at the right time.” She laughed like a bird full of melodies. “I have one left. Would you like it?” Again I nodded. “Take it for free dear.”
“No I’ll pay you £100.” I took some money out but she pushed it away.
“I don’t need it.”
“Take it anyway!” I handed it to her. “And thank you.”
“Yes, thank you, dear!” She waved, after hugging me. “Take care, love!” I went back into Nimbasa City and I evolved my Pansear into Simisear.
“Now we’re ready to take on the gym!” I held up my Badge Case with four Badges in it. “I’m going to get my fifth!” I declared and walked inside. I got on a Roller-coaster and it did a few loop-the-loops until it reached the Gym Leader. “Be prepared for anything!” I told myself. I battled Elesa and won. I was sure Simisear would faint but she beat Elesa’s two Emolga and Zeburaika.
“You are strong!” She complimented and I got the Bolt Badge “Take it.”
“Thank you!” I spoke and ran outside. I went onto Route 5 and I caught a male Minccino and sent it over to the Day care so they could look after another one and to keep Edie’s female one company. Ethan finally caught up with me, after beating the Gym Leader. He had caught a Minccino that was now on his shoulder. I went over to the man who controlled the bridge to go into the next city.
“Sorry, we need evidence.”
“You mean this?” I pulled out my Badge Case with five Badges in it.
“Nope a...”
“Person to explain?” Elesa walked over like those plastic girls who like to show off to boys. Cheren and Bianca were behind her. “These four kids want to go across, please?” She sat on the gentleman’s lap and kissed him.
“Well, alright!” He blushed.
“Piece of cake! Bye.” Elesa winked at Cheren and went into her Gym.
“We got some bikes!” Bianca had a pink bike and Cheren had a purple one.
“So did us. Race you to the end of the bridge!” I laughed as I won.
And there we were, at the next town, trying to get our fifth badge!
“How’d ya do?” A cowboy came over, hand in his trousers. “Me? I’m the Gym Leader of this town. I’m Clay! Yee Hah!” He threw his hat up in the air and it landed on the hedge. He went over to get it and walked back over. “You? You’re the little lady Elesa told me about! Sophie!” He patted my head. “And you? You must be Ethan and you’re the little lady Bianca and Cheren. That’s you? You’ve grown since last time I saw you! Yee Hah!” He threw the hat up again and this time it landed right on his head, as if it had never moved.
“As you can see, I met this cowboy over in...”
“The Night Club over in that city you first travelled to, just after your Hometown, Nevuma Town is it? What’s that city called? Never mind mate!” Clay continued. “I’m the cowboy with no name!” He laughed like a drain.
“And we are the trainers with a name.” Bianca told him.
“Well, come into my city little lady! Laddies with me and Lassies with Sophie!” He made a rhyme. And so we came into his city. “I’ll go into my Gym, and I’ll see ya later. Oh and a hint of my Gym: You’ll be on the open road!” And he strode away.
“What does that mean?” Ethan asked us.
“Don’t know.” I shrugged. “Might be exciting!”
“Let’s have a tour first!” Cheren spoke. He knew exactly when to speak like in a play. We all went into the market, spotting a Ninja.
“Do you have a doggie?” He asked, his eyes hidden.
“Yes a Lillipup.” Was my answer.
“Here then.” He handed me a belt. “It’ll help it te evolve.” My dog came out of its Poké Ball but growled when she saw the belt.
“GGGRRRRRRR! WOOF!” She chased the man away.
“Why would he give me that?” I asked then continued my tour around the town, looking for other things to buy. I bought some milk to heal my Pokémon up. Ethan walked beside me with his Minccino on his shoulder.
“What was that about?” He asked.
“I don’t know!” I looked around and I saw Lillipup bounding over to me, panting happily. I returned her to her Poké Ball. “I just don’t know.” I whispered, putting my Poké Ball in the place where I always kept them, in my bag.
I then noticed The Ninja man running away into the distance...
The Ninja man dashed out whizzed past my rivals and got to the HQs of Team Plasma inside the Freezing Container, just a few yards away from the town, which has been neglected for years. Cobwebs were everywhere and it wasn’t clean so you would definitely sneeze.
The Ninja panted. “You m-majesty.” He bowed. “I... I... ACHOO!” He scratched his nose and it started running. “Oh thank you.” N had handed him a handkerchief and he took it gladly. “Thankz ever so much! I... I...” He shivered from the coldness in there. “AACCHHOOOO!!” He sneezed again and wiped his nose. “I... um, I...”
“Out with it!” N was stamping his foot, waiting for him to speak, and noticed that the Ninja was worried. The Ninja man coughed and began.
“I... d-didn’t m-manage t-to g-g-give the b-belt to S-Sophie. And it’s f-freezing in here!” He stammered.
“We are in the Freezing Container.” N shivered. “We came here to get a wild Minccino, remember! Keep following her! She’ll be impressed that I’ve got Ninja people as well as grunts!” He laughed and his Ninja friend joined in. Other Ninjas appeared, holding the old lady that I met in Castelia City. “Give me the Everstone!” He demanded to her.
“Very well but first can you tell me where Sophie is.” She pleaded. “Please!”
“There’s a good girl!” N smirked. “Sophie is a few yards away in the nearby town. Now give it to me!”
“Alright!” She took out the grey/blue stone that sparkled like a diamond and an Amethyst. “Here. B-but p-please can you l-let me g-go before the c-cold g-gets to m-me.”
“Of course!” He kicked her out and smiled. “Now my Purrloin, my little pussy cat who went to see the king, shall forever serve me! I won’t get the stupid girl trainer, or her protectors, in my way and that’s that!” And he laughed wickedly like a Wizard with a croaky voice. “What are you waiting for? GET GOING YOU IDIOTS!!!” He roared at the Ninjas and they disappeared in a flash. The old lady, who heard every word, watched as all the Ninjas disappeared into the city.
I’ve got to warn Sophie, and fast! She thought. I’ll stay hidden! That might do the job! She kept hidden in the long grass and made her way into the small city in search of me...
The Old Lady ran into the market, gasping for a breath. I gave her some milk. “Bless you, child. You know that Ninja that you saw here?” I nodded and she explained everything that she heard. “And now,” She concluded. “they want you for some reason.” Suddenly we heard shouting from the Gym. We all ran towards the sound.
“You can ne enter here!” The cowboy was arguing with N, whose eyes were sparkling with delight.
“Well, we need the Shiny Stone that is hidden in there.”
“Don’t let him have this.” The old lady whispered, handing me a bright stone. The Shiny Stone. “Take care of it.”
“Why?”
“He wants to control his Pokémon. Oh and it can evolve Pokémon like a Minccino into Cinccino.”
“I’ll send it to Edie.” I replied. “Thank you.” She smiled and all her wrinkles showed, and you could tell that she was full of wisdom.
“I saw again mate, you can ne enter here!”
“And I say again mate, we need the Shiny Stone that is hidden in there!” N repeated, smiling.
“Stop it!” I stepped forward.
“You again, meddler!” I winced.
“I was thinking you were long gone.” I sighed. Everyone laughed. I suppressed my lips, trying not to make him be cross with me.
“Hold your tongue!” He snapped. “Just shut up.”
“Fair enough.” I joked and the crowd laughed again. The old lady had never laughed so much in her life. And with that N left.
“Just you wait Sophie!” He stuck his tongue out. “Until next time, just you wait!” Everyone laughed as he tripped over a tree root. “JUST YOU WAIT!!!!!” He yelled and stomped off.
“Thank you.” I looked at the old lady.
“No, thank you.” She curtsied. “You helped me. Oh and the Ninjas want to take you into the Electric Cave.” I walked into Route 6 and there I saw the entrance to Electric Cave. It had an Electric spider web in front of it so I couldn’t pass. I sighed. I had to win the fifth badge to go into it.
“On you go!” Bianca told me to go into the Gym first. I was always the person to do something first. I took a deep breath and walked through the doors. I had to use lifts to go up and down to get to the right one that would take me down, strait into an underground Gym area.
“Come and show me your skills! Yee Hah!” He threw his hat off and got ready. I battled him with Simisear and my Dewott (Oshawott evolved you see) and won. “What in tarnation?! How could I have lost? Anyway, little mate, here’s the badge just for you!” He handed me the Quake Badge and I was proud of myself. “Come with me.” I was curious. Where was he going? What was he doing? I followed, and he led me to the front of the Electric Cave and cut the Electric spider web. “I’ll go back into my Gym!” And so he did and Bianca, Ethan and Cheren battled him and each won the same badge.
“Sophie!” called someone. I turned round and there was Mom, Juniper, Bianca, Cheren and Ethan.
“Hey guys.” I spoke. Then I was puzzled. “Why are you here?”
“You are about to go to your sixth Gym!” Juniper replied, rolling her eyes. “No-one has got that far before!” I blushed.
“Don’t you mean we!?” sulked Bianca.
“Of course. You are the first four people to go in there.” Mom continued. “And therefore you may not return here because you’ll be on your journey. But the Gym Leader, if you beat her, will let you fly back here because she’ll give you a TM.”
“The Gym Leader there is a flying type lover. Be strong you four, be strong and...” Juniper spoke.
“Good luck!” Mom and Juniper said it at the same time. Juniper hugged me and Mom kissed me. Juniper did the same to my rivals and Ethan.
“Thanks.” was my reply. “I’ll need it.” I had one last look at the town and entered the dark cave.
“Which way should we go?” Cheren pulled his glasses up and saw two directions.
“Look. Team Plasma! Let’s follow them and see what they’re up to!” I declared, whispering. “We can come back.”
“Alright.” Bianca agreed. So we kept well hidden in the shadows. N could sense that we were there and spoke.
“It’s a shame, Ninja, that we couldn’t get the Shiny Stone today. Maybe we could get someone else to get one.” N spoke.
“If you’re looking at me, I don’t have one.” I told the truth. N felt around my pockets and everywhere he could think off. I didn’t have any Shiny Stones because I sent it to Edie so that she could evolve her Minccino if she wanted to. She didn’t want to.
“How about you three?” He checked them. No stones what so ever, not even a Leaf Stone nor a Water Stone. He frowned.
“Why would we lie to you, my lord?” Bianca and I curtsied, Ethan and Cheren bowed and Minccino put her head down, partly in shame and partly to bow.
“Yes you would.”
“That was a rhetorical question.” I giggled. N coughed and spoke.
“Nothing’s happening here! Run along!”
“We don’t know where the next city is. Could you point us in the right direction...?”
“Well, there’s your start!” He pointed up ahead. “Go away! Nothing here!” I wasn’t convinced.
“Alright.” I shrugged my shoulders, looking up and I spotted some rocks. “See you later then, Come on.” And so we walked away, well that’s what N thought...
“Where are you going?” Ethan whispered as I walked away from the path for two very good reasons, 1) There was this Joltik that needed some aid and 2) I wanted to see what N was up to!
“Spy on N!” I whispered. “Now Shh and leave the rest to me. First, help this little spider, its hurt...”
“Looks like there’s been an avalanche of boulders...” Cheren couldn’t finish because I spoke again.
“And those rocks will help me spy on N. Keep quiet okay?”
“Fine.” replied Bianca.
“Look after it. Poor thing, it’s only a baby. I wonder where its mother is.” I looked around.
“Be careful.” Ethan gave me a kiss.
“I will thank you.” I smiled then I climbed on the tall rocks and peeked over.
“Why does that brat have to always spoil my plans?! I know I am horrible to people, but why her of all people? She should be on my side!” Suddenly the rock that I was leaning on fell and, with no more balance, I tumbled down with it. I thought of my Mom, how would she know that I had been killed, how would my friends know? The questions kept turning in my mind. How could I slow my speed? I managed to but the gravity was pulling me down like the quick-sand. N just watched and smiled as I fell. I knew this was my death. No-one could save me! But there I was wrong...
As I summersaulted through the air I heard wings beat, but I couldn’t move my eyes. My vision was blurry, as water was swelling around my eyes. Just when I thought it was all over, I landed on something soft. At first I wondered if Ethan had caught me, then I wondered if N had decided to rescue me but I mean he wouldn’t save me, would he? My hands brushed the water away from my eyes and there I saw Reshiram, the legendary fire and dragon type! Its light blue eyes watched me shiver, because I was cold, and so it landed and put me by a rock, smiled, and flew off.
“Wait!” I called, and I could hear my echo, but it was too late, the legendary dragon had gone. I sighed, was it my imagination? N stood in front of me, gazing at the empty space where Reshiram had been.
“So amazing! I’m certain that I will capture it!” He closed his eyes and imagined the lovely soft fur, the blue eyes, the power! “Now, while we’re here. I’ll share a secret with you.” He pulled me back onto my feet.
“Thanks.” I looked into his kind eyes.
“I can understand Pokémon languages and even your Pokémon whisper things into my heart. Dewott, tell me about your trainer.” My sea otter talked to him, explaining something I couldn’t make out. N explained that his father, when he was younger, decided to let him see Pokémon, only, that were injured.
“She told me about how kind you are.” And for once, he was on my side instead of his father’s side. “How you share feelings with your other Pokémon.” Then he shook his head. “On you go now!” He bellowed. I sighed again.
“Alright.” And so I walked away, leaving N to stare at me. Have I fallen in love with her? was what he was thinking. But I can’t marry her! I’m on the other side. She’s got a boyfriend. I can sense it! He sighed and walked away.
I walked towards where I had left Ethan and my rivals. And there they were, asking me if I was alright.
“We heard you screaming!” Ethan looked at my leg that had obviously been bruised. “What happened?” And so I explained to everyone about how I’d fallen and how Reshiram had saved me. “You’ve been through a lot!” Ethan joked and hugged me. I smiled and we all walked straight ahead.
N, who had watched me, knew that he could never marry me. He sighed once again this time louder, partly because he was groaning and partly because he knew he had to get on. His Ninja friend appeared out of nowhere.
“You bellowed sir?”
“No I didn’t.” He replied, looking at my brown hair swaying from side to side, like a snake trying to hypnotising him. “Disappear!”
“But sir...” The Ninja could believe what he was hearing. “We have a job to do, about the girl...”
“Leave me! I want to be alone.” He roared. He watched me again as I hugged Ethan and we walked, his arm locked around my arm. I laughed, as he cuddled me. N, for once since his girlfriend dumped him, felt alone.
“Alright, master.” Then he vanished into thin air. N was now all alone, with only the rocks to hear him crying.
“Why?” was the only thing you could hear from him. “Why can’t I be with her? She understands everything.” And so he went against a rock and closed his eyes.
There was a dead end in front of us, we had gone the wrong way.
“I knew that wasn’t the right way to go!” I sulked, which was so not like me.
“It’s alright...” explained Ethan
“No it's not!” I had that flashback of Mom cuddling me again.
“It is.” He hugged me. “We’ll just go back and take the path that N was in.”
“How is the little spider?” the little Joltik was curled up in a ball, sleeping.
“Fine.” Bianca was looking after it.
“Can I catch it?” Ethan nodded at me. I took out a Poké Ball and it went in. “I just caught a Joltik!” I declared happily.
“Min, Minccino!” At first I thought that that call was Ethan’s Minccino but it was another male Minccino.
“Aww! It’s so cute! Can I catch it?” Bianca asked.
“Sure.” Cheren pulled his glasses up again.
“Go Poké Ball!” She tossed one. It went in it. “I caught it!” you could see that her blonde hair was shining brighter than ever before. We all ran back to the bit where the two paths divide and we took the one on the right this time. I saw N, but you couldn’t tell if he was sleeping or lying still. I rushed over and noticed that his wrist was throbbing and some blood was coming out of it.
“We’ve got to help him!” I declared.
“You shouldn’t aid the enemy!” Cheren spoke. “It says so in the...”
“I don’t care!” I yelled so loud that I thought I would have made the cave collapse. “How would you feel if we didn’t help you? Now, help me.” We carried him along the path and sooner or later, we got to the next city. We rushed into the Pokémon Center. “Someone help me please!” The Nurse Joy turned round.
“What happened?”
“I don’t know.”
“I’ll have a look.” She put some treatment on the bruise but he was still asleep. She looked up her book. “It says here that his true love needs to kiss him.” Everyone turned to me.
“How do you know that I’m the one?” I then had flashbacks of when we were kids and then when we got separated from each other because he was on the bad side on I was on the good side. Then when we were at Nimbasa City and when he spotted me and when we got on the wheel, then at the cave when he helped me up. Maybe he was kind after all!
“It’s okay.” Ethan reassured me. I went over and kissed him. He awoke, and looked into my eyes.
“S-Sophie...” He rubbed his head. “My arm hurts.”
“We carried you here!” Bianca went over to him, giggling. “All of us.”
“It was Sophie’s idea!” Ethan smiled. N did a half smile.
“Thank you.” He looked up into my blue sea-like eyes again. “How can I ever thank you.”
“You don’t have to, now I must get going.” I sighed when I saw my Xtransceiver that said it was 11 o’clock in the morning.
“RRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGG!!” came my Xtransceiver. I answered it and Juniper was there.
“You okay? Where are you?”
“At the Pokémon Center.” I smiled.
“So you got there? Well done!” She laughed. “I remember when I went on a journey...”
“Really?”
“Of course, dear. I loved it every bit as you and now look where it’s led me to.” We both laughed. “Well, I’d better not waste your time...”
“Where’s Mom?”
“She’s fine, back at home.” She replied. “I’ll see you later. Bye! I’ll tell your Mom about how far you’ve gone!” And she hung up.
“I’d better get going also.” N got up, dizzy. “Don’t worry, I’ll be fine.” He walked outside only to find his father there.
“What are you doing in there?” His strong deep voice echoed in N’s ears.
“Nothing.” N answered quickly. “Let’s run away.” N sighed. His father would never let him marry. And so they walked into the distance with heavy hearts.
“Well, I’d better go and see the gym leader.” I smiled. “And anyway, I need to do some sight-seeing. What do you think, Minccino?” My Chinchilla smiled.
“Thank you, Nurse Joy, for everything...” I started.
“No, dearie...” She smiled like no other person I’ve ever met. “Now go on and enjoy this town...” before she could finish, we left the Center.
“Look at that!” exclaimed Bianca, pointing to the huge aeroplane. “Even better,” She gasped as she saw something else. “Look at that!” This time she was looking at the airport. “Come on, let’s go inside!” She was now gripping my arm and tugged me onwards while she ran.
“Hold your horses, Bianca!” I followed, breathless. But I couldn’t think anymore because Bianca was gripping on to my shoulder and we went inside first. Cheren and Ethan talked before entering the airport.
“Why do you like this Sophie anyway?” Cheren raised his eyebrows and waited for an answer, but he wasn’t a patient child.
“We’ve been brought up together since...” Ethan stopped as Cheren walked away.
“She’s like any normal kid.” Cheren said, plainly.
Not like you. Ethan managed to hide his smile just in time. “Cheren, why don’t we follow them? I like her because she is special. She isn’t like normal people, she’s strong, and gentle and is kind to every single living thing, even plants.” And with that they followed us. There a Minccino was, greeting us.
“Is it yours?” I interrogated Bianca and Ethan. They shook their heads, negatively.
“I would love another...” before Bianca could finish, Cheren pushed her and stepped in her way.
“...I’ll catch it.” He smirked. “Poké Ball, go!” He tossed one but the Minccino didn’t go in. “Right then we’re going to have a battle! Snivy, I’m going to need your help!” The grass snake waved its head around as if it was trying to hypnotise the Minccino. “Razor Leaf.” Leaves shot out from Snivy’s body and whacked hard on the Minccino. In return, the Minccino used Attract which affected Snivy, who was a girl.
“So Cheren knew that his Snivy was female so he used it against the male Minccino!” Bianca smiled.
“Actually I didn’t.” He chuckled and managed to hide his blush. “Snap out of it!” Snivy did. “Now, let’s wrap this up! Use...”
“Use Leaf Storm!” Bianca ordered.
“Huh?” We all turned to face her.
“Use Leaf Storm, use Leaf Storm!” She was like a cheerleading girl, dancing around the room.
“She doesn’t know that move yet.” Cheren told her. Bianca stopped dancing and went back into her position, angry.
“Oh why, Cheren!?” Bianca shouted, annoyed. I suppressed my lips and I heard Minccino humming, and it seemed to be laughing.
“Use Razor Leaf full blast!” Cheren ignored the sniggering and his Snivy used its strongest move on the male Minccino. “Now Poké Ball, again!” Cheren chucked his Poké Ball at him and this time he went in it. “Now we all have a Minccino!” He beamed, which was a first time in many years.
“Hello there.” A lady with long red hair came over. “You must be Sophie!”
“That’s right.” I smiled and my eyes, along with my cheeks and lips, crinkled. “How did you know?”
“Little bird told me!” She laughed like a sweet macaw. “I like bird-type Pokémon you see.”
“Then you must be...” Bianca exclaimed, but before she could finish, the girl replied.
“Yes, I’m the Gym Leader of this town. Skyla is my name.” She winked.
“It is a pleasure to meet you.” Bianca was now bowing to her. “I’ve so longed to see you!” The Gym Leader wore a blue crop top and shorts that came to her thigh. On her head she had a blue flower.
“So this is Bianca.” She walked towards my rival. “And you must be Cheren. Elesa told me all about you. Ah, the young Ethan...” She smiled. “... Juniper told me all about you.”
“She did?” He was interested on the subject.
“Of course.” Her head nodded in the affirmative. “Now I need to go to the tower of heaven just now, to ring the bell.”
“What bell?” Bianca asked.
“How silly of me, I didn’t explain. Sorry, I always have my head in the clouds these days. And so will you if you come with me to the tower will you...?” She had soulful eyes.
“Alright.” I sighed.
“Ya hoo!” She did a summersault through the air and landed gracefully. “Come on, and stick close to me! Promise?”
“Of course.” We all chorused, sadly.
“Aright then! Allow me to explain about the bell and the Tower of Heaven.” We walked through Route 7.
“RRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGG!!” My Xtransceiver was ringing. It was my Mom, smiling at me.
“How are you, love?” She asked, her blue hairband shining in the sunlight.
“I’m fine!” I replied.
“Have you got all the badges yet, my little Pokémon Master? Or should I say Mistress?” She joked and we laughed.
“I’m on my sixth badge, Mom.”
“That already?” She was shocked, but impressed. “You’ve been working hard.” She giggled. “I’d better not keep you waiting, young lady.” She smiled. “Let me guess, you’re going to go and see the...” She thought for a few seconds. “The Tower of Heaven?”
“Yes. But how did you know?”
“How do I know dearie?” She giggled, softly. “I went on a journey when I was your age, everyone does. Juniper probably told you that.”
“She did.” I nodded.
“I’m going to go now. See you later, love, Bye!” She waved and I waved back.
“Goodbye.” And with that, she hung up.
“The Tower of Heaven is the place of Harmony between humans and Pokémons. People from all over the world come to see the Pokémon, who have died, to remember them.” The Gym Leader spoke, her red hair blowing all around her face. “Now, this is the part where you need your balance skills.” We saw a long, thin, balancing beam, and noticed a boy walking across but fell into the long grass. I gulped and then went behind Skyla.
“AAAAAAAA!” I fell into the long grass after almost reaching the end. I could hardly see the beam anymore. In fact, I could only see the grass. “Help!” I called, but the grass drowned my voice, since one went in my mouth. I coughed and heard the beating of wings again but I couldn’t see who it was. Suddenly, when I thought it was just a bird flying past who wouldn’t notice me, some claws wrapped round me, a little, and before I knew it I was flying. I looked up and I saw Reshiram once again. “Reshiram.” I smiled. She put me at the end of the balancing beam and let me catch my breath. “Thank you.” But I couldn’t say anything else to her because she was flew away. “WAIT!” I yelled but she had vanished. Reshiram flew into the sunrise.
My rivals, Ethan and the Gym Leader came over.
“How are you here? We just saw you over there, and now you’re there!” Cheren pointed to the area he had seen me fall. I explained about what happened to me.
“I knew I would never be able to get out of the grass because some grass wrapped round my ankles, trapping me in the long grass. Then Reshiram appeared and took me over here, to catch my breath and then once I said thank you, it left and then you came.”
“Sounds like Reshiram doesn’t want to be spotted by anyone apart from you.” Skyla’s conclusion sounded correct. Maybe Reshiram doesn’t want anyone to see her. Maybe Reshiram likes me! So many Maybes but not so many affirmative answers. My mind was swimming with all the ideas of Reshiram, just like when I was thinking of N.
“Now, to the Tower of Heaven we go!” Ethan declared. We all ran into the large tower to see grave stones. Everywhere we looked there was crying and grave stones were anywhere and everywhere. Some were being polished and some were being held to write stuff on it. I sighed deeply as I saw the stones.
“So, these are some of the Pokémon who have died.” Bianca fought back a tear, as she gazed at the stones. A few tears dropped from my face. I looked at Minccino and she was whimpering, quietly. I stroked her.
“Yes, I’m afraid so.” came the sorrow voice of the Gym Leader. We walked upstairs to see more of the stones.
“I hope they are alright in heaven.” I sobbed. We walked up the next flight of stairs.
We kept going, glancing at some of the tomb stones, and then we finally reached the top.
“Who is going to ring the bell?” asked the Gym Leader.
“Not me!” Cheren stood backwards, leaving Bianca, Ethan and me.
“Me neither!” Bianca stepped backwards as well, leaving Ethan and me in front.
“I’ll do it!” I declared. I rushed forward and rang it so loud that I’m sure the whole world would have heard it.
“Well done, Sophie.” I smiled when Skyla said that. “Let’s go back! But wait a minute!” We were about to go down the stairs and we turned round. She had a flute in her hands. “I’m going to blow it.” And she did. A tingly feeling in my skin rose and a few seconds later, some birds flew over. “Climb on!” we did. There was no bird for me so Skyla let me sit beside her, and so we flew back into her city.
“Are you Sophie?!” A man called to me. I walked slowly over.
“Yes.” I spoke.
“I’m Mr Juniper.” He smiled. “How do you do!”
“Nice to meet you.” I smiled. “So you are Juniper’s...”
“Father?” A familiar voice echoed in my ears. I turned 180o and I saw Juniper. “Yes. I was just telling my father about how you were achieving. So we decided we should upgrade your Pokédex. Can you hand it over to us?”
“Sure.” I replied, giving it to them. Mr Juniper was pressing buttons on it.
Juniper spoke. “Since some male and female forms are different we have improved it.” Mr Juniper had stopped pressing buttons and was holding it out in front of me.
“Thank you.” I took it. “I didn’t expect you to arrive here, Professor.” Mr Juniper did the same to Bianca’s, Cheren’s and Ethan’s Poké Dex.
“Yeah, I thought it would be a surprise.” She winked. I winked back. “Come on, father.” They walked off together.
“We’d better be off to the Gym.” I looked at Skyla. She nodded.
“And I’d better go into the Gym!” She laughed and walked back to her Gym.
I challenged her first. Her Swoobat kept whacking hard on Dewott but there was one move Skyla had forgotten that wasn’t affective on her, Heat Stamp. So her bat used it and Dewott used Water Gun, making her bat faint.
“You’re strong!” She smiled. “But not strong enough! Go, Unfezant!” Her pigeon came out. I knocked it out, in a matter of seconds, when Dewott used Razor Shell. “Best is last!” She beamed. “Swanna, I’m going to need your help!” Her swan knocked out my Simisear, which I had stupidly taken out.
“Minccino, come on out!” She did. “Minccino, Tail Slap! Go!” My Minccino did and the swan fell to the ground.
“Aww! Someone is better than ‘The Heavens’ Flying High Girl’!” Then she shook her head. “Never mind! Well done! You deserve this badge.” And so, she handed me the Jet Badge. I took it gladly and put it in my Badge Case.
“Thank you very much...” I then thought about her tour around The Tower of Heaven. “For everything!”
“Anytime, Sophie. Come and visit anytime! It will make my heart soar!” She giggled. Moments later, my rivals and Ethan had got the Jet Badge too.
“That’s us then!” I smiled. “Now it’s onto our seventh Gym and battle Brysen!”
“Yeah!” Bianca nodded.
“Affirmative!” Cheren pulled his glasses up again.
“Come on!” Ethan called to us, since he was ahead of us.
And so, we ran over to Sekka City. The Man in the ‘Ice Mask’ they called Brysen. He never takes the mask off, you see. He is the oldest Gym Leader you could think of, and had the strategies of a champion. He was talking to Nurse Joy.
“Very well, Brysen!” She curtsied and was about to go into her Pokémon Center.
“Can you heal Simisear?” I rushed over to her before you could say ‘Legendary Pokémon’.
“Of course. I’ll only be a minute!” I handed her to the Nurse and she took Simisear into the Pokémon Center.
“You must be the little ‘Coolers’!” He spoke, wisely. His voice seemed croaky, as if he had spoken all the time. “Time to ‘Chill’ out. I’m Brysen, the Ice type Gym Leader. Come and see me in my Gym when you feel warmed up, because I’ll cool you down!” He laughed and went into his Gym.
“Hey, guys!” We heard another familiar voice. It was Iris! Her purple hair was more puffed out than ever. She beamed. “How are you all?”
“Alright.” I smiled. Cheren walked over to her.
“And you?” He asked, looking into her golden eyes.
“Okay, thank you.” She acknowledged him, happily. “How many badges have you got?”
“How many do you think?” Bianca mumbled. Iris heard, but ignored, this.
“Six.” Cheren replied.
“Have you been here long?”
“Not long at all.” I interrupted their quiet conversation, sadly. Someone had to answer it! My mind told me. I nodded, as I saw that Cheren wouldn’t have replied.
“Here we are. Your Pokémon are back to full health.” Nurse Joy came back out. “Anymore Pokémon needing healed?”
“We might need to be healed.” Ethan yawned. The sun was setting on the horizon. The Nurse nodded.
“You may sleep in here.” She took us into the building where we could sleep.
“Can you heal all our Pokémon?” I asked her. Everyone turned their head to her. Iris’s Axew squeaked.
“Of course!” She smiled. She healed all of them in a few minutes. “Here we are. Your Pokémon are back to full health.” She came back with a trolley full of our Poké Balls. “Anymore Pokémon needing healed?” She repeated. We shook our heads. “Well then, sweet dreams. Don’t worry about anything tonight. You may stay up as long as you wish.” And so she went into her office.
“I’d never thought I’d say this but, I’m homesick.” I told my friends. They nodded.
“I’ve got that too!” Bianca’s face was now full of sorrow.
“It’s okay!” Iris rubbed Bianca’s back. “It comes to you once in a while. When I started my journey, which was not long ago, I felt homesick. But then it becomes natural when you are away from your Mother. When you go back to your home, you’d rather do things yourself. Everyone has it.” She smiled. “No mammy to cook you the Vegetable Lasagne with Garlic bread or the Tomato sauce on the Spaghetti...” Suddenly our tummies rumbled and she stopped talking about food right away. “Have this...” She rummaged about her bag and found the apples she had picked. “Or this, I made it a few hours ago.” She took out some boiling hot Spaghetti. We licked our lips. “Dig in...”
“Thank you, Iris!” We coursed and ate some. Suddenly, Ethan and my lips touched each other - We were eating the same bit of Spaghetti! I blushed, while Bianca smiled. Iris suppressed her own lips and Cheren hid his laugh.
“At least we are all enjoying our time without our Parents nor any other member of the family...” Ethan started but I corrected him.
“You are wrong. We are a member of the family, we all are a family.” We all did a group hug. Minccino ate the last bit of Spaghetti and then climbed on my shoulder.
“I’ve never had friends who looked out for me before.” Iris spoke. “Until I met you.” We all smiled. I yawned.
“Is it just me or am I the only person tired!” I laughed. Minccino shook her head.
“No, we are as well.” Iris replied. “Let’s get our rest.” And so I took out a bed cover and we all lay on it. We gazed up through the window above us to the stars glittering. Then I saw something that wasn’t a star nor a moon.
It was Reshiram.
“Reshiram!” I called and waved at it. “Can’t you see her?”
“What are you talking about?” Cheren had taken his glasses off and put them back on. I looked back to where I had seen her, but Reshiram had vanished.
“Look at that star!” I tried to change the subject, since everyone was frowning. “If you connect the dots, it looks like Minccino!” Everyone looked at it and smiled. “And that one looks like Reshiram...” But I knew I was going to talk about Reshiram again. Cheren was watching me. “Look, I didn’t choose to see her she saved me... twice! Remember what Skyla said, ‘Sounds like Reshiram doesn’t want to be spotted by anyone apart from you.’ so that must mean that nobody has been able to open up her heart apart from me.” Bianca nodded.
“Correct.” She continued. “And therefore while we were star gazing, nobody was able to see it. Let’s not get into a fight.” I acknowledged her. She smiled, feeling proud of herself. We all nodded and were too tired to reply so we all curled up on my bed cover and dreamed of something happy.
It was the prettiest sunrise I had ever seen in my whole life. The sun glistened like glitter, sparkling when it rose.
Reshiram was watching over me from outside. I looked round to see if anyone else saw it but no, they were still asleep. I crept past Ethan and tip-toed outside to meet the Pokémon. I smiled when it swooped down.
“Reshiram!” I gasped quietly. It nodded. “Is it true about...” I then explained what Skyla had said. She nodded again. “Oh Reshiram!” I couldn’t contain my happiness inside me. I hugged her and you heard a calm, happy, whimper.
“Sophie! Where are you?” came Ethan’s worried voice. I sighed.
“You’ll have to go!” I stroked her face. A gentle groan came from her throat. “I hope I’ll see more of you!” And so she flew away, leaving no trace of feathers from her beautiful wings. Ethan came outside and saw me, gazing into the sky.
“What are you doing?” He was choking, coughing because he was laughing at me. I gave him some fresh water from my bag and he drank it, merrily. “Thanks.” He took a deep breath and carried on. “What are you doing out here?” I told him what happened. “Why didn’t you wake me? I wanted to see it!” Just then, a shadow appeared over the town, forming a tornado. “What’s this?” He yelled, coughing once again, this time because of the sand and stones being thrown about. “Reshiram must be doing this!”
“No!” I argued, gulping. “Let’s go in the Pokémon Center!” I ran inside, but then looked behind and saw Ethan gazing up into the dark clouds. I dashed towards him, but he was transfixed. “Ethan come on!” I shook him but he ignored it.
“No!” He mumbled, dreamily, his eyes getting darker. He was becoming the Ethan that I’d never known him to be, frightening, taller and under a spell. I closed my eyes to make sure this was a dream and looked down, into my hands, seeing the water bottle Ethan had drunk. No, this was real! My hands shook. “A Pokémon is here.”
“Ethan!” I called to him, my voice shivering. “What’s wrong with you...” I was trembling now, Minccino shaking from the coldness. Iris, Bianca and Cheren were at the entrance, watching me. Ethan was trying to hypnotise me.
“What’s wrong with him?” Bianca could barely speak anymore. Ethan was still looking up.
“Ethan!” Iris called to him but he was in a trance and no-one could wake him.
“Master Zekrom. Master Zekrom...” He kept calling up to the clouds. I had never seen him like this. My two, frightened, rivals and Iris came over and I explained everything as quickly as possible.
“RRROOOAAARRR!!!” A call came from the clouds. It wasn’t Reshiram’s voice at all.
“Reshiram?” Cheren asked.
“She would never hurt anyone!” I corrected him. “What is it, Pokédex?” I took my gear out and pointed it to the Pokémon high above the clouds. ‘Zekrom, the legendary electric Pokémon’ The opposite of Reshiram, I thought. “Zekrom stop this!” I commanded but instead, he lashed out lightning. I was now out of ideas. Suddenly, I heard two noises. The first was wings beating and the second was footsteps. N appeared out of the shadows, coughing.
“Zekrom!” He called from the top of his voice. Zekrom stopped for a minute. “Calm down.” But he didn’t. Instead, he lashed more lightning out and one of the bolts hit N. “AAAAAA!” He cried with pain. I rushed over to him and poured the water on his scar. “Ow!”
“Sorry. But don’t you worry. Just stay in the bushes!” I told him and he did. The wings were getting louder. Just as I suspected, it wasn’t Zekrom flying down nor any birds flying past...
It was Reshiram.
Reshiram spread her wings out and called to Zekrom. “HAWK!” She kept repeating, doing high-pitched and low-pitched voices, rephrasing it and speaking differently. “HHHAAAWWWKKK!!!” She blew fire. The blaze was sending the storm cloud away, as well as Zekrom. “HHAAWWKK!!” She told him.
“RROOAARR!!” Zekrom growled and flew away, angrily.
Ethan was now back to normal, and was now asking what had happened.
“Zekrom put a spell on you!” I told him. “Oh, thank you Reshiram!” I stroked her. She smiled, her light blue eyes getting watery. When the tears were finally there, her eyes were flowing like the sea. I rushed over to N, followed by my befriended Reshiram. “N. Are you alright? Say something!” He was asleep. He opened his eyes.
“You’ve saved my life, twice!” He hugged me. “Thank you!”
“It’s alright.” I let go of his hand but he grabbed it.
“Stay with me!” He begged. I nodded, Minccino was now calm and resting on my shoulder. Ethan, Iris and my rivals went inside the Pokémon Center.
I sat down beside him, smiling.
“I’d better thank you properly! Thank you very much!” He kissed me on the cheek.
“It’s okay!” I replied. “That’s why I learned how to do First Aid.” We laughed. “It’ll heal up in no time!”
“Without you pouring that water on it, it would be as sore as my legs!” We laughed again. “If I’d never known you, I would have been a very sad person!”
“Flatterer!” I laughed, blushing.
“I’m serious!” He whacked me, softly. “You are the prettiest person I’ve ever met! And the cleverest!”
“Really?”
“Of course!” He replied.
“That’s very sweet.”
“That’s why I said it!” We laughed and we were about to kiss when...
“What are you doing here!?” It was N’s father, Ghetsis and he was angry!
“I was... um...” I thought of an explanation that would be easy to believe. “He was hurt and I was treating his leg and he wanted me to stay with him until it got better!”
“You shouldn’t heal the enemy!” Ghetsis snapped.
“I don’t care!” I answered. “And he isn’t my enemy, you are!” And I wish that I hadn’t said that. Ghetsis’s face was as red as a tomato.
“You’re as crazy as N!” He got N to his feet and dragged him away. “You’ll never see each other again so here’s your chance to say goodbye!” He took him over to me.
“Goodbye, N.” Then I began to sing a lullaby.
“I’ll always remember you,
I’ll carry your dreams until they come true.
Each breath that I take,
Each moment away,
I’ll always remember you.” I whispered softly, but loud enough so that he could hear it.
“I hope we see each other soon.” I gave him one last hug and Ghetsis dragged him away. He waved at me and I waved back, making sure he could see my tears. “Goodbye, Dee-Dee!” That was the name everyone gave me when I was at school.
“Goodbye, N and I’ll always remember you!”
“I hope we see each other again, real soon! Farewell, Sophie, and god bless you!”
“Bye!” I shouted so the whole world could hear, making sure he saw my tears. The final glance made me feel lonely and as if my heart had been broken a little. And then he vanished. Minccino looked at me. I looked back. She nodded, understanding my feelings. I nodded back in reply and ran off to find N. “I’ll help you get away from your father!” I promised him. “Wind, send him this message!” I think that the wind understood because I heard a whisper like, Sophie... WWHHOOSSHH!
He left me with a sorrow heart and was pulled away by Ghetsis, his father. N was now full of sorrow and now the clouds were gathering. He stared at my father, full of angriness. N wished that he had never known him. Then he had the flashback of me, singing to him just when he had left me a few minutes ago...
“Goodbye, N.” Then I began to sing a lullaby.
“I’ll always remember you,
I’ll carry your dreams until they come true.
Each breath that I take,
Each moment away,
I’ll always remember you.” I whispered softly, but loud enough so that he could hear it. He sighed then he had a flashback of when he was sent into the country because he was told that he wasn’t supposed to know me. I was his life, his half-sister. He called me his ‘half-sister’ because I wasn’t his sister nor his half-sister, I wasn’t even part of his family but he came across me, when he was at school, and sooner or later, we were friends. When he waved to me when we were at the station, he had a broken heart.
His flashback vanished and there he was, being dragged by his father.
“Why do you tell me not to see her, she’s so nice!” N asked him.
“She is an idiot!” replied his father, dragging him like a dog on a leash. N growled when he jerked N up and pushed him to the Plasma HQ.
So he was left with a question, Why was he not telling me of all people? But no more discussions happened and they were moving over to the Plasma HQ. His grunts threw him into the cellar.
“What are you doing to me?” He asked but they stuck some sticky tape on his mouth and shut the door on him. All N could do was to mumble. Then he managed to shout. “Why!” Then N fainted, unconscious...
I decided to follow N and his father against my will. Minccino climbed on my shoulder, shivering from the cold. I was anxious to see where they were going. I peeked over a bush and saw that they were standing in front of the Plasma HQ. Then after a few moments, when they had gone in, I heard a yell.
“What are you doing to me?” No mistake, it was N’s voice. But his voice was frightened and shaky. I heard some sticky tape being cut and then a door slamming. Then I could make out mumbles. “Why?” was one word I could make out then a thud. I crept towards the HQ but then saw the door knop turning and I hid. Out came Ghetsis, smirking. Minccino hissed.
“N is such an idiot! I put some Plasma poison on the tape and now he’ll be as dead as a Pokémon!” And so he laughed. His Plasma grunt went towards the door, going to lock it. “Leave the stupid door alone!” He shouted. “No-one will look in there!”
“But, sir! What about the grunts?”
“They are away to try and take Pokémon!” He snapped. I smiled, Minccino beamed.
“Yes.” I whispered so that no-one could hear it apart from my mind.
“Come on!” Ghetsis told his grunt and they left the HQ.
“What idiots!” I sighed when they were gone. I sneaked in and went down into the cellar, frightened. What if I’m too late? I asked myself but shook the idea out my mind. I hurried on and saw a strong metal door. Minccino noticed the screen where you put in the code. It’s a crack-the-code thing again, like at school! I thought. I thought of a Pokémon that they would want. So I typed in a code. Reshiram it came up on the screen. red came up which meant ‘not correct’. I sighed and tried again. N I wrote. red came up. I thought hard. It must have been something N wanted. I had a flashback of when we were kids and he was speaking to me.
“I think of you a lot, Sophie!” He was treating a Pokémon back to full health. “Every day, all the time.” The flashback vanished. So I typed SOPHIE in the code search. appeared. Password Correct it said and I rushed into the room and I saw N on the floor, breathing heavily. Minccino was shaking and one of my bottles of antidotes fell to the floor. I picked it up and then thought. I gave the antidote to N and his eyes opened. I peeled the tape away from his mouth. Minccino jumped onto his shoulder.
“Oh Sophie!” N rubbed his head and then hugged me. “Let’s get outta here!” I nodded and helped him onto his feet. We rushed back to the Pokémon Center and I told Ethan, Iris, Bianca and Cheren about my adventure.
“How come we don’t get to help ya?” Cheren asked.
“I didn’t have enough time to get you!” I replied quickly. “He would have...” I paused because I never liked talking about death. “He would have died.” I spoke quietly.
“Sophie’s right!” Ethan nodded.
“I can see you’ve healed after your limbo!”
“Limbo?” Bianca asked N.
“Between worlds.” answered Iris.
“Oh.” Bianca nodded. “Thanks so much...”
“What’s that!?” I looked at the door...
A wild blast of wind came through the Pokémon Center.
“Sophie!” N called. He couldn’t save me because he was helping Bianca get out of the Pokémon Center. Ethan was outside and was so pale, Cheren was worried like a mouse without any cheese. “Look out!” Minccino’s hair was blowing all around her face, just like me. Minccino was gripping onto me but that didn’t matter. What mattered was I couldn’t fight against the strong wind and the powerful force was pulling me straight towards the hard wall with the spikes...
I tried to run the opposite direction, running towards the door, just making out the shadow shape of Zekrom flapping his wings like mad, creating the wind, and now a Tornado, that was heading towards the Pokémon Center. “RRROOOAAARRR!!!” He yelled and flapped his wings even faster. Then...
“HAWK!” Suddenly, someone grabbed hold of me and before I knew it, I was flying. I looked up. There was Reshiram and she was fighting against the air currents.
“I don’t believe it!” I yelled so the world could hear. “Thanks again!” I stroked her.
“Hawk?” She cocked her head and I laughed. I heard a little happy groan from her. “HHAAWWKK!!” She called to Zekrom, who stopped flapping his wings. “Hawk, hawk!” She spoke to him again. “HHHAAAWWWKKK!!!” She used Flamethrower on him.
“RROOAARR!!” Zekrom summersaulted backwards. “RRRROOOOAAAARRRR!!!!” My ears were ringing and I had to shut my eyes. When I opened them, Zekrom had vanished.
“Reshiram, you saved me again!” I exclaimed, stroking her again. She squawked happily. “Thank you.”
“Hawk!” She rubbed her head on my shoulder. Minccino went over to her.
“Min!” She squeaked.
“Hawk!” Reshiram picked me up and placed me on her back.
“Reshiram... AAAAA!” I closed my eyes as she swooped down and up. “AAAAA! Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!” I giggled. “Oh Reshiram!” I stroked her. She was so kind and had saved me three times. Not once but three times. When she landed, I had butterflies in my tummy. “What would I do without you!?” I gave her a big hug.
“Hawk!” She flapped her wings and flew away once again. “Hhaawwkk!” She waved her hand and her eyes were saying, ‘Goodbye, Sophie! I must go now.’
“See ya, Reshiram!” I yelled and waved. She flew off out of sight, leaving me as happy as I could be.
“Sophie!” N ran over, Ethan followed. Then Iris, followed by Bianca and Cheren.
“Are you alright?” Everyone asked.
“Yep!” I smiled. “Of course I’m alright! Now, let’s enter the gym!” I declared. Ethan nodded.
“Before anything else happens!” He continued. We all laughed. I challenged the gym where Brysen was. His Ice-type Pokémon were strong but with the help of Simisear, We defeated them all.
“How?” He asked, sighing. “Oh well, Here’s the Icicle Badge!” He handed it to me.
“Thanks. I just got the Icicle Badge!” I held the gleaming badge up in the air and out it into my Badge Case. Now the Badge Case was dirty, because of the sandstorm Zekrom created.
“Minccino! Min!” My Minccino wiped my Badge Case clean.
“It’s a good thing I caught you on Route 1!” I smiled, stroking her. A Minccino shouldn’t be around Route 1, but I had befriended her when we were little and I caught her when she appeared to see me when I started my journey and stayed in the city where Team Plasma did the speech.
It seemed like a long time ago when I started my journey, when I chose Oshawott and got my Pansear, helped all the Gym Leaders I have encountered, helped Edie’s family and seen the legendary Reshiram.
Now here I was, nearly got all eight badges and with my Minccino. I waltzed out the gym happily. But my happiness didn’t last long; Zekrom was high above the rainclouds!
He lashed out Lightning and one of them hit me. “AAAAA!” I yelled. Minccino jumped down off me as I soared through the air, straight into the ocean...
I landed head first and I couldn’t turn the right way up as the current was pulling me down to the bottom of the ocean. Some fish Pokémon were watching me. I wished that I hadn’t done this, now that I think about it, I called to them.
“Help!” My voice gargled. I knew that my oxygen was low and all the air bubbles were at the surface. Some were coming up from the bottom of the ocean but I couldn’t get them. “Please... Help.......” I couldn’t say anything else as I was out of oxygen and I sunk to the bottom of the river, unconscious...
Ethan saw me go into the water, my Minccino on his shoulder, and heard a croaky voice.
“Help!” No mistake of it, it was mine. “Please... Help.......” He took off his jacket, as Minccino climbed off his shoulder, and dived into the cold water. It was freezing but he persevered and paddled to the bottom and saw me, lying there. With all his strength, he picked me up as if I only weighed a feather. He swam to the surface and I was now coughing. I gasped. “Ethan! Oh you saved my life Ethan! Oh Ethan, I love you!” I kissed him, right on the lips. He carried me, in the way that married people carry their wife, into the Pokémon Center. He put me on the sofa.
“We just heard the news! Zekrom did that to you!” N went over to me. My face was quite pale.
“Ethan saved me...” I managed to say, holding Ethan’s hand. “What would I have done without you...?” Now I was wondering if I should marry N or Ethan.
“Look here, I just rescued her. N could have saved her!” Ethan let go of my hand and he walked away from the Pokémon Center. “Now I’ll challenge the Gym Leader.” And with that, he ran off.
“What’s wrong with him?” I asked N.
“I don’t know.” He looked at the door where Ethan was. “Anyway, are you sure you’re alright!”
“Yeah!” Iris jumped in front of N. “You Okay?”
“We were worried!” Bianca came over.
“Yep we were.” Cheren brushed away a tear.
“Why didn’t you come and help!?” I snapped. “Zekrom was attacking me, again! Let me guess, you were all scared and you didn’t want to help your friend!”
“Sophie...” N held my hand but it was no comfort.
“I thought you would save me, of all people!” I let go of his hand and I ran outside, full of tears. No-one could comfort me, not even my Minccino on my shoulder. “Why, why?” I whispered.
Ethan had won his badge. He didn’t want to leave the gym.
“You want something else?” Brysen asked.
“Wisdom.” Then he explained how much in love I was with N and himself. “And now,” He concluded. “I lost my temper! Who would she chose?”
“When I was her age, there was this girl, um... Edith yes that was it, who wanted to marry me or this other person, what’s his name... Edward and she chose Edward because he was younger than me. Then they had a child and named her Edie...” Ethan gasped. “So she might chose you! But if N is truly as kind as you say, she will chose N. Be prepared for anything!” He walked away from the gym, and saw me sitting facing the river, showing my tears. He sat beside me.
“Sophie...” He didn’t know how to say this. “Who will you marry when you’re older?”
“What sort of question is that!?” I snapped. I was still angry.
“It’s just a question.” Ethan shrugged his shoulders, sat next to me, and gazed at the ocean.
“I don’t know who yet! I’m too young to think about marriage anyway!”
“I asked it because I’ll know if I should stay with you or not! If you say yes, I’ll stay and if you say no I’ll go...”
“Why do you have to be so annoying? I might as well say no!”
“Why do you have to be so angry when I am telling you how I feel about you?” I was quiet and let him continue. “If I loved you less, I would be able to talk about this more.” I giggled a little bit. “Will you marry me when you are older or will you marry N instead?”
“I don’t know!” I replied. “I like you both but I can’t marry both of you! If you were older than N, I would chose him.” I told him the truth. “Wait a bit longer until I tell you my true answer.” We both went into the Pokémon Center, arm in arm. “I’m sorry, gang. I was upset!” I apologised.
“It’s alright!” Iris replied. “Maybe we should have rescued you.”
“At least one of us did!” N looked at Ethan. “While you are in the room, Sophie, will you marry me?”
“Wait a bit longer until I tell you my true answer.” I repeated. Ethan sighed happily. I coughed. “Why don’t you and Bianca go and challenge the gym?” I pointed to Cheren and Bianca. They nodded.
“Excuse me. I need to ask Nurse Joy something!” And so Iris went away along with Cheren and Bianca.
“Come on, Sophie!” N went over to me. “I need an answer!”
“I said that I need to think about it!” I replied. “That’s my answer just now!”
“Leave her alone!” Ethan stood up for me.
“Look here, Romeo!” N hissed. “Why don’t you find another Juliet?” Ethan growled.
“Break it up the pair of you! It’s my decision, not anyone else’s!” I ran out the Pokémon Center, with Minccino on my shoulder, upset once again. I ran as fast as my legs could carry me until I reached Castelia City. I was breathing heavily, tears in my eyes.
“RRRRRRIIIIINNNNGGG!!” My Xtransceiver was ringing. It was Ethan, when I answered.
“Sophie! Look I didn’t mean for it to go that far. I love you more than I love myself!”
“I know you didn’t but I don’t want to disappoint N! What should I do?”
“As you said, ‘It’s your decision, not anyone else’s.’ so I must not interfere...”
“You must, Ethan!” I told him. “This time you must! What must I do?”
“We’ll think of something... wait! How about him falling in love with Bianca?” He suggested.
“No, Ethan! Bianca already has a boyfriend, Cheren!” I whispered. “No-one else should come between this!”
“Minccino!” My Minccino looked into the screen.
“Hello, girl!” He tried to stroke her, making me giggle. “Who do you want to marry, Sophie? You need to choose right now!” I thought for a few seconds.
“You then.” I replied. I saw N’s face in the background. “N, you are just a relative! We’re just friends right?”
“Of course.” He replied, smiling. “That’ll be grand! Better than having a wife!” I laughed.
“I could always change my mind when I’m older...” Ethan and N’s face changed back to a worried face. I laughed so long that my stomach hurt. I never even knew that I had such a sweet laugh. I smiled.
“Ice-Cream!” I heard someone say behind me.
“You’re at Castelia City?” N was shocked. I laughed again.
“Yes and I think I’ll have an Ice-Cream!” I paid for one and licked it. “See ya later!” I waved. “I’ll be back as soon as I can!” I switched my Xtransceiver off and cycled back this time!
“Oh Sophie.” Ethan kissed me.
“Oh Ethan!” I stroked his hair. “Tell me the truth, there’s no more magic in this city?”
“I can’t do that without you.”
“Why do you have to embarrass me?” I blushed. He smiled.
“Why do you have to blush?” he brushed my brown hair away from my face.
“Why do you two have to take forever to get into the Pokémon Center?” N interrupted, laughing. I giggled and linked my arm with his. We walked into the Pokémon Center, laughing.
“I got my badge and you didn’t see it! Where have you been?” Bianca demanded for an answer.
“Just... hanging around!” I told the truth, laughing along with Ethan giggling.
“What’s so funny?” Cheren asked. “Anyway Bianca and I will be getting married!”
“Congratulations!” Iris giggled, her Axew poking out of her hair.
“We were about to tell you that Ethan and I are engaged!” I showed them the sparkly ring on my left hand. Minccino was with Ethan’s Minccino, hugging each other.
“And I think there will be a triple wedding!” Ethan joked, as he watched his Minccino with my Minccino laughing and dancing.
“You’re right about that!” I hugged him. “So, so right.” Suddenly Skyla came in. N stared at her dreamily.
“Sorry to interrupt, gang, but is Nurse Joy around?” She asked, her red hair sawing from side to side.
“She’s through here...” N went towards her before anyone else could. “You must be called Ariel, like the mermaid, because of that lovely hair.”
“Flatterer! But I’m not Ariel; I’m Skyla ‘The Heavens’ Flying High Girl’, a Gym Leader!”
“A pleasure to meet your acquaintance.” He kissed her hand. “You are beautiful!”
“Oh, thank you!” She looked into his eyes. “Which way did you say I could go?”
“This way...” He led her into the room where the nurse was. I looked at Ethan.
“Are you thinking what I’m thinking?” I asked him.
“Yeah, is she...?” Iris couldn’t continue.
“Better believe it!” Ethan replied. We heard some conversation.
“Will you marry me, Skyla, The Gym Leader with the Jet Badge?” We all leaned closer...
“Yes! I’ll be yours, N! But I need a reason why you think I should marry you.”
“I love you! That’s my reason!” N replied. We heard some kissing.
“More like a quad wedding!” I giggled. We all did our group hug once again.
Sooner or later, we travelled to the next town where Drayden was waiting for us. He had grown a stubble, now showing white hair around his face and covering his mouth. My red bicycle was now worn out.
“Would you like me to fix that?” He asked, his voice croaky.
“Do you know how to?” was my question to him. “Who are you, may I ask?”
“Of course I know how to!” He chuckled. “My father taught me and his father taught him and so on! I’m Drayden, the Gym Leader of this town!”
“I’m...” Before I could speak, he finished it.
“Sophie and you’re from Nuvema Town along with your three friends, Bianca, Cheren and Ethan.” He pointed to each of us. “The Gym Leaders told me.”
“Remember me?” Iris went towards him, her purple hair shining in the sunlight.
“Of course I do! Welcome back.” He hugged her.
“As you all know, I used to be the Gym Leader of this town until he took over!”
“Yes, so you said.” Ethan replied, rubbing my hair gently. “Now, may I introduce N and Skyla.” They walked towards Drayden, laughing.
“What are you doing here?” Drayden’s eyes smiled at Skyla. “What a lovely surprise!”
“I’m getting married to N!” She smiled back, clutching N’s arm. “I knew you would like a surprise from me!”
“Well then, how are you all?”
“We’re alright, thank you Drayden!” I answered quietly. “Well, we’re alright now.”
“What happened?” He asked. I explained everything that had happened to me in the previous town, all about Zekrom and the way Reshiram was always there. He listened to every word without a question. “How could you have coped?” Once I had finished my story, he asked me.
“I don’t know. Someone was there to save me and I had courage still, most courage on my side, not Zekrom’s.” I replied quickly.
“Now that we’ve had a reunion, I’ll head back to my Gym. Challenge me if you dare!” He laughed again. I giggled but I think he meant it.
“What’s that supposed to mean!” Ethan called to him.
“Wait and see!” Drayden turned round, his yellow eyes watery as if he had been laughing for such a long time and he had laughed because it was so funny.
“It’s supposed to mean, Ethan, that if you lose to him, you won’t get the badge.” I told him.
“Yeah I know but why did he say ‘Challenge me if you dare!’ like that?”
“I don’t know. Why are you asking me if I don’t know?”
“Because I love the way you shout at me.” He hugged me. That song that I sung at Castelia City came back only the lyrics had changed so it was happy.
“I am a princess,
This is a fairy tale,
I am the one you’ll sweep off her feet,
Lead her out the stairwell,
This is Hollywood,
There were no small towns,
I am a dreamer for you and you’ve returned your love,
It’s not too late for you and your White Horse to come around.
It’s not too late to catch me now!” I finished the song. I had sung it to Ethan who was humming it after. “Now, I’m going to challenge the gym and get the final badge!” I declared.
“Sophie!” Ethan called. “Shouldn’t you train your Joltik or your Simisear...?” Before he could finish...
“Petilil!” An injured Petilil walked over, groaning. She fell to the ground.
“Are you alright?” I asked it, but to my dismay she shook her head. “What happened?” She spoke but I couldn’t understand it. “Minccino, do you know what she said.” Minccino nodded. I understood her language because we have a strong bond between us. “Zekrom did it?!” I was shocked. Petilil nodded. “That horrible Pokémon! Do you have a trainer? Do you have someone?” She shook her head. “Well you do now! May I catch you?” She nodded. “Go Poké Ball!” she went in it. “I’ve now got five Pokémon now! One more to go until I have got a whole group!” I spoke.
“That’s the spirit!” Ethan smiled.
“But first, I’d better heal her up.” I went into the Pokémon Center. Nurse Joy healed up my Pokémon. Then I challenged to Gym Leader and won after training my Simisear, Joltik and my Petilil.
“No-one has ever been able to beat me!” He sulked. “Here’s the Legend Badge.” He handed me it.
“Thank you. Now I’m ready to battle the Elite Four and the Champion!” I opened my Badge Case and placed the Legend Badge in the last slot. I gazed at my eight badges.
(From left to right, the Tri Badge, Basic Badge, Beetle Badge, Bolt Badge, Quake Badge, Jet Badge, Icicle Badge and the Legend Badge) I smiled.
Sooner or later, Ethan, Bianca and Cheren managed to get all the badges too. Skyla and N had disappeared for a long while. Iris asked us if we had seen them.
“Caw, caw!” We looked up and there was Skyla on her Swanna. Her Pokémon swooped down and she jumped off it.
“It’s just terrible...” was all we could get out of her trembled voice. “Just horrible...”
“What is?” I asked.
“Spit it out I say!” Ethan patted her back. She took a deep breath and spoke.
“Ghetsis has got N and he has been controlling him...” We all gasped as she gulped. “They’ve caught Zekrom and they are using him to reach Reshiram!” She sobbed. “You’ve got to help him!” She had tears now.
“Of course we will. Where is he?”
“The Dragonspiral Tower.” She trembled. “My Swanna will take you there!” Ethan and I got on her Pokémon and headed off for the Castle. We rushed up the spiral steps which seemed to go on forever. At long last we came to a room where we could rest. Darkness was coming, making the castle look completely black, with only a few torches as our light.
“I can’t see why we have to do everything.” Then he shivered. “And it’s getting dark!”
“It’ll take another 12 hours to get to the top!” I spoke. “We need to camp for tonight!” Minccino nodded.
“I’m not stopping so that you can fill up on the grub!”
“You need something to keep you going.” I replied. “So what have you decided? To go off in the dark alone or to stay in the warmness with me.”
He then rolled his eyes. “With you.” He sighed.
“Why is it I thought you were going to say that?” I questioned myself.
“Because you never let me go off alone!” he shouted.
“I knew there was some reason.” We started laughing, Minccino giggled.
“You know what,” Ethan looked deeply into my eyes. “When I first saw you, way back when we were kids I just thought, ‘She can be my pal but no-one special, she’ll never be anything but a trainer.’ but there I was wrong. When we grew and you got prettier, I changed my mind. You are the prettiest person I’ve ever met...”
“You love me just for my beauty?” I asked, angrily.
“Nope, your kindness and courage also, and the beauty comes from within...” He kissed me. “Let’s get some rest and get there before 12 o’clock in the morning!” I nodded and I fell asleep and dreamed about what happened to me in the town where Brysen was the Gym Leader, when I drowned. And I thought that N was going to save me! Ethan was the real hero! I would have been killed if he hadn’t risked his life to save me. He was better than N, but now N was in trouble and it was all up to us.
In the morning, we finally got to the top. There was N looking at Zekrom. It was roaring. Each roar let a bit of lightning fall. “N!” I called to him. He turned round, his blonde hair full of dullness.
“Sophie. Long-time-no-see!” He laughed. “You came at a wrong time. Zekrom is hungry at the moment. Come here!” Zekrom flew over. He was smiling. He was so strong. I winced. “Attack these worthless trainers at once!” He commanded. Zekrom lashed out.
“AAAAA!” I screamed. I was full of pain and it was sorer than when Zekrom had lashed out at me before I drowned. I fell to the ground, unable to breathe.
“AAAAA!” Ethan yelled. “Sophie!” He called to me but I could look at him. I could only look at the sky above. Ethan fell to the floor exhausted and I saw some sort of dragon circling above me.
“R-Reshiram?” I asked, unable to say anything else.
“Finish it!” N ordered. Zekrom was about to lash out a powerful force when...
“HHAAWWKK!!” Reshiram came swooping in from nowhere.
“RRRRRR!” N groaned. “Right, Sophie.” He got me to my feet. “Catch Reshiram and I will battle you!” I sighed, as I was always told what to do. Am I never allowed to make my own choices? I thought. Then I realised that I had made lots of choices! Deciding if I should choose to marry N or Ethan, deciding if I should be a Pokémon Trainer, deciding which side I was on, Team Plasma or with Ethan, Deciding lots of things I hadn’t realised.
“As you wish.” I answered quietly. “But, may I say something to her first?” N nodded, angrily. I ran over to Reshiram and hugged her. “Oh Reshiram! Please can you come with me?” I asked quietly so N couldn’t hear. She nodded, flying away into the right position. I had only one Poké Ball left. “Please can she go in... please, please, please?” I whispered, clutching it. “Go, Poké Ball!” I threw my last Poké Ball at her. It rattled three times and then stars came out. I smiled. “I just caught my last Pokémon!” I declared, laughing.
“So you did.” I jumped as N’s voice interrupted my thoughts. Now battle me!”
“No!” I told him, my Minccino on my shoulder shaking her head.
“Zekrom...” He told his legendary to strike lightning. He smirked.
“Wait!” I replied, seeing Ethan on the floor, unconscious. N beckoned Zekrom to stop. “I’ll battle you.” I sighed.
“Wiser choice...” He smiled but more than a smile, a smirk.
Bianca, Cheren, Iris and Skyla had travelled on foot for a day and were now at the bottom of the tower climbing the stairs, going up in a spiral shape.
“No wonder they called it Dragonspiral Tower!” Bianca panted. “It’s full of stairs!”
“Yeah! I thought you knew that!” Cheren ran in front of her.
“Stop it, the pair of you!” Iris told them.
“Look, we won’t get anywhere if we fight!” Skyla interrupted them before they started arguing.
“We won’t get anywhere no matter what.” sighed Bianca. “It’s dark already!”
“You didn’t think it was still light, would you?” joked Iris.
“Look, once we find somewhere decent we’ll rest!” bargained Skyla, holding out a hand for Bianca to shake.
“Promise?” She asked.
“Promise!” Skyla repeated.
“Cross your heart hope to die?” Cheren inquired.
“I will never tell a lie!” Skyla rhymed the poem. Bianca and Skyla shook hands.
“Hey!” asked Cheren. “What about me of all people? You didn’t shake my hand!” He whined.
“I didn’t get one either,” Iris told him. “And I’m not complaining.”
“Better!” replied Skyla, holding her hand high. “A High Five everyone!” She giggled and so they laughed. All four of them did a High Five and rushed up the stairs to find a room. They found one after 5 minutes, the same one Ethan and I rested in.
“I found it first!” Iris informed them. “I found it before you did and while you were searching, I made some Vegetable Soup for us to eat!” everyone dug in and fell to sleep, all except Iris and Skyla.
“Do you think N is alright, Iris?” She asked, her blue eyes watering.
“I’m sure he’ll be fine.” Iris replied quickly, smiling.
“You’re a real pal!” Skyla closed her eyes and Iris couldn’t help but do the same.
And so, our battle began.
I was scared and happy at the same time, scared that I would lose but happy that I had strong Pokémons. Without question I defeated his Pokémon that weren’t trained properly.
“Father!” N called. “Ghetsis!” he yelled. Out came his father, smirking as usual.
“You bellowed, dear?”
“Yes! Defeat her with your Pokémon!” He ordered.
“Of course, son.” Ghetsis nodded. “But I may require your Zekrom!”
“Why?”
“I left my Pokémon back at the HQ you see. I didn’t know that we were having a battle. I need to borrow it for a while.”
“Sure, father.”
“Right, then I’ll use...” before I could finish...
“Use Reshiram! Do as I say!” Ghetsis roared.
“That’s not fair!” I protested, stroking Reshiram. “She’s just battled N’s Pokémon; you need to let her rest...”
“Here then!” Ghetsis threw a potion. I used it on her and she was full of energy again.
“Are you sure you’re up to this?” I asked her.
“Hawk.” She turned round, with confidence in her face. “Hawk, hawk!”
“Then get onto that battle field!” I spoke. “You can beat him, Reshiram! Use Flamethrower on him!” Reshiram used the move. Zekrom crashed to the ground.
“Thunder Shock attack!” Zekrom used it. Reshiram crashed to the ground.
“Dodge all Zekrom’s moves and use Flamethrower everywhere!” Reshiram did what I said.
“Use Thunder Shock everywhere!” Ghetsis ordered. Zekrom used the attack on Reshiram. She dodged and kept looking behind and used Flamethrower on Zekrom. Zekrom got hit and crashed to the ground but got up again, only having a few scars.
“Thunderbolt!” Ghetsis smirked. Reshiram, who was flying about the place, got hit by it and crashed to the ground with lots of bruises and scars.
“Reshiram!” I called to her. “Are you alright?”
“Hawk...” She croaked.
“Come on, Reshiram! I’m really not forcing you to but pull yourself together! Get up, please?” Then it hit me: If I used my Full Heal, then she would be back to full health. That Milk I bought would be great for the job! I rushed over to her and let her sip some of it. “Now use...”
“HHAAWWKK!!!” She got up and used Flamethrower, when I hadn’t told her to use any moves yet. I smiled. Now that’s what I call being Independent! I thought. Zekrom got hit.
“Full Heal will do the trick!” He smiled. But before he could reach his Pokémon I commanded Reshiram to use Fly which sent all the wind down on Zekrom. She swooped down and whacked him hard. Zekrom had fainted.
“Zekrom is unable to battle which makes Sophie the winner!” Ethan declared. He had regained consciousness!
“Yippee! You were great, Reshiram!” I hugged her.
“Hawk!” Her eyes seemed to be saying, ‘It’s all thanks to you!’
“I give up! The world won’t be separated from humans and Pokémon!” He sighed. “N can return back to his normal self.” His spell came off and N was back to normal. “Good luck when you battle the Elite Four and the Champion!”
“Sophie...” N was unable to say anything. He hugged me. “Thank you! I’ll release Zekrom. Be free, Zekrom and sorry my father hurt you.” He flew out of sight. When everyone had left, he talked to me. “Sophie, you are the best trainer around! See before I met you, people had been arguing with their pets and not being nice but then when I saw you, you taught me a lot. God bless you, sister!”
Iris, my rivals and Skyla were there and they asked what was going on. I explained. Afterwards, I challenged the Elite Four and the Champion and won!
I challenged Edie, my Minccino against her Minccino and it was a tie. “Thanks!” Edie spoke as we shook hands. “Great battle! The best I’ve ever had!”
“You are a great trainer, Edie!” I told her.
“My little girl’s finally a Pokémon Mistress!” Mom hugged me when I went to visit. “I’m very proud of you.”
“Thanks for believing in me.” I replied, smiling at my Minccino who beamed back.
I married Ethan, Bianca married Cheren after they beat the Elite Four and the Champion together and Skyla and N married shortly after. As for my Minccino and Ethan’s Minccino, they got married too! Bianca’s female Minccino and Cheren’s male Minccino got married as well!
This was my best adventure I had ever had and I hope that Edie has the same sort of adventure when she grows up!
