   It was announced today that Aardman Animations is creating an exclusive series of 1 minute shorts of popular children’s show Shaun the Sheep in 3D for the highly anticipated Nintendo 3DS console!
   
   
   
   The Nintendo 3DS, which launches on the 25th March 2011, will be the first portable 3D entertainment device and is set to revolutionise the 3D experience by removing the need to wear special glasses.
   
   Aardman, which is currently in production on two 3D feature films, now faces the exciting challenge of creating some of the first bespoke animated content for this brand new 3D format.

   As a huge Nintendo fan, this news inspired me to check out the show on Netflix, and needless to say (since I made an account on here), I've become hopelessly hooked. Bring on the 3D Shaun!

    If these shorts and the new DVD(s) really caught on with the American audience, I wonder if a Shaun 3DS game could be in the cards. I just got the original DS title recently, and believe it or not I actually had a dream about the 3DS version of it. This partnership, believe it or not, is what has me most excited about the next Nintendo handheld atm!

    I'll take that as confirmation the shorts will be appearing in the US, then? I know Shaun has a much bigger following on the other side of the pond, but I would hope he's enjoyed enough success here to warrant a 3DS appearance.

    The US is catching on.... it just takes us a little longer. Still, I wish the stores would hurry up and start stocking Shaun stuff. As for this game, you can bet I will be first in line to buy it for, uh, my kids. lol Yeah, they will have to fight me for it.
