    It is generally cod, but just fish in batter and some chunky chips. Its nice! :P

    It's a shame you don't have fish and chips over in the US. It's really nice! It's a piece of battaered cod, with what you call french fries, but they're a bit chunkier, like SATE said. A lot of people have it with ketchup/tomato sauce or vinegar.

    No it isn't, in england, when we get fish and chips, chips are generally the fat ones, well my family at least calls the thin ones french fries.

    Yeah, in England though, most come with those which we call chips or chunky chips. We call the curled ones curly fries and the french fries french fries amazingly enough.

    French fries (in Australia) are thin chips. We have fat chips with fish not french fries.
