If today is Monday 23rd November that is! 4.20pm on BBC1 is the first outing of our new series of Shaun. Hope you enjoy - let us know what you think!

Tomorrow and every day this week, for some reason unknown to us, the BBC schedulers have put on a repeat from series 1 next to a new episode from series 2! Should make spotting the differences a bit easier!

    By concon Nov 23rd 2009

YAY ! I cant wait! Im recording the whole series!

By csadler Aardman Staff Nov 23rd 2009

For your information - BBC1 will be screening an episode from the NEW series at 4:20pm every week day. They have then decided to broadcast a REPEAT of a series one episode directly after. (eg; today they are broadcasting "Double Trouble" from series two, followed by "Bathtime" from series one.)
I don't know why they've decided to do this but it does mean that if you tune in slightly late, you may catch the old episode rather than the new one and get a bit confused!
Spread the word - tune in to the FIRST episode to see new material, then kick back and enjoy the nostalgia of a classic series one episode!
    Thanks everybody! - Chris.

oh great ive just watched all the episodes from series 1 to get ready for the new series this afternoon and now im gonna be watching it again after the new episode on tv!!!! I just cant get enough of shaun !!!! :)

    By Finlaybear Nov 23rd 2009

Thanks for the info, I shall make sure I only record the first episode. In my joy at seeing the broadcast date I hadn't realised it was only one new episode per day. I am really looking forward to seeing Shaun and the flock again.:D

    By I love Bitzer Nov 23rd 2009

I've already seen some episodes at the German channel "KIKA" and they're fantastic! First the new style of Bitzer, the pigs and the farmer was a little bit to needs getting used to, but now I like the new Bitzer more than the old....OK, similar
    ;)
I hope there will soon be all episodes which are already made at this channel, because at the moment you only can see one every Sunday.

All in all: The new Series is very felicitous and after a short time you don't mind the differences between the old and the new characters. Looking forward to seeing some more,
    I love Bitzer

    By jordan Nov 23rd 2009

new series is visually amazing in difference between first series. the colours and animation etc, when i saw bitzer in the old episode after the new one , i thought bitzer looked odd lol , i prefer the new bitzer!

By Gromits little bro Nov 23rd 2009

it was stupid putting bathtime of all episodes on where you can see bitzer change through the episode. Three version of bitzer in two episodes...

By csadler Aardman Staff Nov 23rd 2009

Gromits little bro - It looked like reverse evolution... A bit like watching Gromit in "A Matter of Loaf and Death", then watching "A Grand Day Out" immediately after!

By icy blue Nov 23rd 2009

wow new episodes awesome bitzer looks cool

By csadler Aardman Staff Nov 23rd 2009

    Thank you icy blue!

    By I love Bitzer Nov 23rd 2009

Yeah, he's very nice and cool in his new style! I think he now looks more like a dog
    ;)
An he has more mimiks, I think! I love the new episodes!!!!
    :D

By Minnie the Pooh Nov 24th 2009

I've just seen a few of the new episodes on KIKA, and they're all brilliant! I especially love how you have kept Timmy (my favorite character) the same -- all babyish and innocent (sort of), like in Series One. I prefer this babyish Timmy over the Timmy Time one, who is a bit naughty. So thank you!

Also, even though Bitzer looked a little different at first, it was very easy to adjust to. His character and personality are still the same. I must admit, though, that I do miss the way Pidsley used to look. I just loved how he was just a brown amorphous mass of clay.

All in all, the episodes are brilliantly creative and imaginative. Needless to say, my favorite so far has been Supersize Timmy!
    :D

Thank you and congrats to all those who worked so hard on this new series!

By csadler Aardman Staff Nov 24th 2009

Thanks Minnie, I hope you enjoy the second twenty episodes as much... phew, nearly there!

    By jordan Nov 24th 2009

another cool epsiode really loving the brightness and HDness, used to the character changes already

    By animal_rights100 Nov 24th 2009

The changes to Bitzer have made him look unique and original, in a good way. The old Bitzer was a bit plain and simple. In my opinion his new appearence has made him a real character.

    By ajmole Nov 24th 2009

When will it come to the US?

By Gromits little bro Nov 25th 2009

I love the new designs for the characters after watching them in action. My only complaint is that I want more!!!

    By Baatrix Nov 25th 2009

Don't like the new Bitzer's mouth with all the white around it - makes him look like a clown! Seems that they are just catering for HD viewers! Bring back the original Bitzer - please!

By icy blue Nov 26th 2009

well i miss the old one bitzer is grown up:-|

    By Shelbs716 Nov 26th 2009

Heya... I am new to this site... but my family and I love Shaun the sheep. has anyone heard of the new series airing in the US?

    By shaunfan101 Nov 27th 2009

I missed the first one. When will you be showing it again?

    By animal_rights100 Nov 28th 2009

    I missed the fifth one.:-(

    By nigel_sars Nov 28th 2009

I am really liking the new series of Shaun the Sheep! Congratulations to you Chris and all the team! It is great even though the characters have slightly changed the great stories and animation still remain. Loving the new HD look!

The addition of Pidsley the cat in the 5th episode 'Strictly no Dancing' was great! Will he be appearing in any more episodes?

Are you going to update the wallpapers on the site with the newer pictures?

    By nigel_sars Nov 28th 2009

Hey animal_rights100 & shaunfan101 don't forget if you are in the UK you can watch the Shaun the Sheep episodes online for up to 7 days using the BBC Iplayer. Have a look here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00p3ypm/Shaun_the_Sheep_Series_2_Double_Trouble/

    By concon Nov 29th 2009

    is a girl ! :'L

    By TimmyPoppa Nov 29th 2009

I think the new bitzer is better because he looks as if he's got fur! They need to update the smileys because Pidsleydoesn't look like that anymore XD

    By Chris-ford Dec 2nd 2009

    BITZER LOOKS HORRID!

I can't believe you did this to him! Seriously, it's like watching a show that has been completely re-cast.

You will in effect polarize your audiance by doing so.

Consider this - I've just purchased all of season 1 and 2 disks from the ABC shop - $199 worth... I *WILL NOT* be buying season 3....

By katie Aardman Staff Dec 2nd 2009

@Chris-ford - I've edited your message. We welcome constructive feedback, but it doesn't need to get personal.

As with many other shows, characters develop and evolve - just look at how much Wallace & Gromit have changed since the beginning! We hope that you will enjoy the new story lines, which reach above and beyond what was possible in series 1, and after a few episodes will grow to love the new-look characters just as much as before.

    By Finlaybear Dec 2nd 2009

I thought that I would hate the new-look characters but I don't, I think they are a great improvement and I love the fact that they are shot in High Definition. There are always going to be people who don't like the changes but the majority view seems to be positive.:D

    By concon Dec 2nd 2009

    They seem better.

    By poopstick Dec 3rd 2009

Can csadler or GarethO please make a TV schedule for Australia?

    By poopstick Dec 3rd 2009

From what I've seen, the characters look great! Pidsley looks more like a cat now.

    By poopstick Dec 3rd 2009

BTW, Can you accept my buddy request GarethO?

By GarethO Aardman Staff Dec 5th 2009

Hey....er..... Poopstick. I haven't been sent a full schedule from ABC yet but it started yesterday at 6pm on ABC3 and will be repeated on ABC1 in February 2010. We'll try and put up more schedules for other countries as they come in.
And I will accept all the friend requests when I finally work out how to do that... Think I might ask the site designer on Monday! Gareth

oh no series 2 is a major disappointment so far :( The characters look terrible. Bitzer, the ducks :( The three pigs uh what happened to them??? They were soo cutee in Seasons 1,2 :(

What happened to every characters mouth? What is the use of shooting in HD and then using this weird mouth concept. If you see this on HD or beyond HD LCDs you will observe that the only thing changing in each frame is the mouth and the rest of the face looks un natural - not connected with the rest of the emotions which appear on the rest of the face - like a robot.

Kaite said that characters evolve - yea the they do - but the become better not WORSE. May be using the removable mouth save you guys a lot of work but that just ruined everything for the audience. And the story line?? Constant far*ing in each episode? So many 'funny' actions are repeated from previous seasons and they suddenly are not funny anymore. If people watched cartoons only for the 'story lines' they would just read comic books - watching an animated cartoon is much more than 'story lines' Season 1 was so much better sob sob :'(

    By Buffy :P Dec 7th 2009

YAY new shaun the sheep series i can't wait to see em :) i love the shaun the sheep series they are so funny

By Sammy the lamb Dec 10th 2009

Oh no, not another forum locked...

    Dear_life
Yes, the characters have changed. If you don't like the new series, don't watch it! watch the old ones immeditely afterwards! get out your entire series, and watch them over and over agian.

The characters have changed, but they have changed for practicle reasons. You will notice that bitzer is a lot more active, he seems to do a lot of fainting this series, which was hard to do in series 1 because of the rigging.
The new design for pidlsey allows him/her to go on all fours (Like a real cat) which was impossible for the last one. And since Pidlsey has been promoted from "One off with cameos" to a high ranking character similar to the naughty pigs, and has a lot more to do, more models are required, and it's quicker (On a whole) to make figures out of latex foam than out of pastiscene. Wallace and gromit have the leisure of having a long story writting process, and a longer production time, but with a TV series it's a rushed panic to meet deadlines whist still keeping the quality.

As for the naughty pigs, we haven't seen much of them so far, so I can't really judge. Pidlsey has the advanage of having all the pigs mischeivousness, yet living with the farmer, so he thens to get more plotlines.

    Still, I think shaun's still baa-rillant!
