Eibisch is the German translation for marshmallow so I don't know what you are eating. Would it be at all possible to eat only foods without an umlaut in the spelling for ease of translation purposes?;)

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Well,I don`t know how to do that. And I don`t know how to tell you what I`m eating. So I have to call the Storck Company and tell them that I can`t describe in english what I`ve bought from their Company.;) They have to make better words for their sweets.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

I'm sure there is a way for me to change the font to one with umlauts but it is not something I would ever use except to talk to you and my other German buddies.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

It`s sometimes difficult for us with the words, isn`t it?!

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Yes it can be, like when Lischen thought I was referring to her boyfriend as a Guinea-pig because of the use of the word in English meaning someone who tests something new.

When I look out of the window I see that the most trees are empty now and lost their leaves. And I saw a Squirrel with nuts in it`s mouth for the winter. Is your Squirrel still there?

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

He must be keeping a very low profile because I haven't seen or heard of him for a few weeks now.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

    Then he maby makes hibernation.:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

No, squirrels don't hibernate. I just checked on a website. They probably don't need to come here for food because of all the nuts and berries around at this time of year.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Oh,I thought they do.Very interresting that they do not.
What do you have for dinner today?:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Same as yesterday. What about you?

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

There were just two men who want to give me a bibical thinking.I didn`t really open the door.Just a little bit.Hope they are gone now.I`m frightened now.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

I haven`t got anything today because we maby go with my brother and his girlfriend to a restaurant we like. But I still don`t know.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Were they Jehovahs Witnesses? They come door-to door trying to convert people to their religion. Don't be frightened nicesheep. I'm sure they don't mean to harm you.
I just read that you can't cross a pedestrian crossing on a red light in Germany or you will be liable to a fine. Is that really true? Here pedestrians can cross on a green light but we often go across on red if there is no traffic.:O

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

I think it is.You only can cross them when the light is green. But if nobody is there and also no traffic, who will see when you walk by red?!So many people do that.I saw it very often.Only when children are there, everybody goes at a green light.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

You are better behaved than we are. Also there are so many cctv cameras here that you could be seen even if there was nobody about. They are everywhere. Sometimes it is useful, we can use the cctv evidence in Court but we seem to be using them for more than safety and crime prevention.:-|

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Hey Lischen89 has won first prize in the Art Competition and I love Bitzer is a winner too. |-)

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Did I understand right? There are Cameras everywhere on the streets? The police everytime sees everything?

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Yes there are cctv cameras in the city centre but they are operated and controlled by the local Council not the Police.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

    Ah,ok.I understand.That`s interresting!
What did you say?! Lischen89 is a winner? And I love Bitzer, too? Great! What did they win?

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Go onto the bottom option on the forum page, under Sheep Talk and you can see it for yourself. :)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

I don't know what a Music Scene thing is. Is it a CD, a DVD ?

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Oh,great! Than we have to congratulate our both Buddies! :D

They will be happy about the nice prices!:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

    Prizes not prices!
Maybe they should put their artwork on e-bay and auction it!;)

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Music Scene thing I also don`t know.Maby it is something for making music yourself or something like that.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

We shall have to ask Lischen89 when she has received it what it is. She will be pleased.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

    Oh,thanks finlaybear! I haven`t seen that it`s written wrong
    .
    Yes,they can do that!:)

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Yes,we will do! She would be very happy when she knows that she`s a winner this month!:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Have you heard what the plans are for your dinner yet?
I am meeting a friend for a curry on Friday night. :D

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

At the moment it looks like it`s falling into water because they call my brothers girlfriend to come for work altough she has her free day today. Not really fair from her work. She works very hard,7 days a week. And then if she has one day off,she has to come anyway.
Lucky you! Then you mustn`t cook on Friday and can enjoy your evening!:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

What a shame that your plans have fallen through, what sort of work does this person do that they have to work so hard?
We don't use the phrase falling into water- a real shame because it is such a nice descriptive saying.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

She´s a Waitress in a big Tennisclub. She is going to be the Owner of it next year. There are not many people working there, only 3 and herself.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Sounds like she has her hands full if you will excuse the pun! What will you do for dinner now? A takeaway or something from the freezer?

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Sorry I couldn't get a translation for 'excuse the pun' but a pun is wortspiel on it's own.:D

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

We are going to drive to Paderborn to the big "Großhandel".Near there is a very good Restaurant with American food like Burgers,Sandwiches and Salads. There we will go then.I like the roasted corn on the cob.And the Salad with Turkey and the Burger with Fish.

It doesen`t matter finlaybear.I know what you will say.;)

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Have you ever tried bortsch, the Russian beetroot soup? I made it once, it tasted much better than I expected.

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

I know it,yes. And I`ve made it,too, but not with beetroot.I`ve made it another way, someone told me how.But I don`t know if I can do it again because the recibe is lost.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

I can give you my recipe for it sometime. It is a lovely coloured soup. Scotland has some good soups like Scotch Broth and Coc k-a -leekie Soup and also one made with smoked fish called Cullen Skink!:D

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

There shouldn't be a space between the coc and the k in the soup title but the forum told me not to swear when I put the name of the soup in correctly!!!!!!!!!!:O

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Sounds really good! You know I love Soup! :) What is the Cok-k-a-leekie Soup? Is it with Chicken?Sounds like it is.:)

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

This problem I had as I wanted to tell you what sweet I was eating at lunch time.

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

I will try and upload a website with recipes for Scottish soup but as it has the 'verboten' word it may not work!
    http://www.scottishrecipes.co.uk/
No it didn't but go onto the above link and on the left hand side you can click onto soups!

    By Finlaybear Nov 10th 2009

Now I must go nicesheep. I hope you have a great meal out tonight, see you again tomorrow maybe. Do have a look at the Scottish website. By the way- 'tatties' is the Scottish word for potatoes! :D

    By nicesheep Nov 10th 2009

Ok,finlaybear! Thanks for the webside link!:) I will look there! Wish you a very nice evening my friend! Hope to see you tomorrow!

    By nicesheep Nov 11th 2009

Hello finlaybear! How are you today?

    By Finlaybear Nov 11th 2009

Hello nicesheep, I am ok today thanks. I have managed to do my food shopping nice and early so I can relax for a while now. How are you today?

    By nicesheep Nov 11th 2009

I`m fine, too, thank you.I`ve done ironing in the morning because my boss told me I have one day off today. That was not planned. And I`ve done some foodshopping, too.Things for dinner today.

    By Finlaybear Nov 11th 2009

What are you making for dinnner tonight? I am trying out a new recipe- mushroom and olive lasagne.:D

    By nicesheep Nov 11th 2009

    That`s funny! I`ll make a Lasagne,too today! :) But with minced meat.

    By Finlaybear Nov 11th 2009

I have got 6 different types of mushrooms to put in the lasagne, and I had to buy a bottle of sherry especially for the recipe! I am just about to have some lunch so don't worry if there is a delay in my reply.
