Thanks I love Bitzer, I had no idea you didn't have fishcakes in Germany. It is a very old recipe which was invented to use up left-over fish and potatoes from the previous day's meal.:D

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

    Now it works.:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

You are not missing much by not being able to see the supermarket one nicesheep. Home-made fishcakes look and taste much better.

    By I love Bitzer Nov 6th 2009

Here's only the picture (of the supermarket one):

I think so,too finlaybear.I`ve seen both now and I prefer the home made ones.:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Maybe Shaun should include such a recipe in his next German cookbook!;)

    By I love Bitzer Nov 6th 2009

    I must go now:-(:'(

    Bye. See you tomorrow!:)

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

Maby?! The recipe from Shaun`s book I made yesterday was really delicious. That would be something you like, too finlaybear!

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Bye I love Bitzer, have a good day! See you soon.:)

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

Oh,then have a nice day I love Bitzer! Hope to see you soon again!:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Yes nicesheep, it was made from puff pastry I think, did you use frozen pastry or make your own? I think you have said in the past that you cannot buy frozen pastry in Germany.

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

You mean the "Blätterteig" ? This you can buy frozen here, too.I ones made it by myself but that`s a lot of work and takes much time. The spinach was also frozen this time.Sometimes I buy it on the market, fresh, sometimes frozen.
What we don`t get here is the Cornished Pasty, what a pity.

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Ah yes,we love our Cornish pasties here! I am buying one today when I go shopping. Nowadays you can get all sorts of fillings, chicken, beef, cheese and onion, vegetables. They have special shops in Cornwall and Devon just selling pasties.

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Just a traditional one for my boyfriend . He loves them.
I have to get ready and then go shopping nicesheep. I am going to the supermarket but will be back in about 40 mins at the most.:D

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

    Ok,see you then later! :)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Hello nicesheep I am back again.:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

    Are you here?

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

Oh yes, hello! I just played some Tractor Beams.:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Hello. The supermarket was really busy and it took far longer than I thought. Still, it is all done now for the weekend. What are you planning to do?

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

We go to the "Hobby Market" tomorrow early in the mornings. It begins at 5 o`clock. In summer you must go there so early now we go at 7.It`s a big market where you can buy animals and the things you need for them. Then they have flear market, too. It`s funny to go there. It`s every first Saturday in Month.
In the afternoon a friend is coming and we make chocolates and cook together.
On Sunday we go to the "Kläschen Markt" in Horn.Maby you can find it at google. It`s a mediaval Market.
What are your plans for the weekend?:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

I am going out tomorrow afternoon and then on Sunday I don't know where we will go, but we shall go somewhere, maybe to meet with friends. I want a new DVD recorder before the series of Shaun starts here. We may have a look at some in the shops. All the major shops are open here on Sundays now, is it the same with you?:)

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

Yes,on Sunday in some towns the shops are open. But only when it is open shop day.Not every Sunday.
My Hb came in with a new DVD recorder on Wednesday.Great we can look DVD`s again now.

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

So the big shops do not open every weekend? Is this because it is the law? Here they open 7 days a week and make a lot of money on Sundays because it is one of the few times when people can shop with their families. Supermarkets can only open between 10 and 4 on Sundays by law.

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

That`s great finlaybear! Here we have the law that only in some towns where you can make a "Kur" for your health, the shops can open for a little time.
On Saturday the most shops close at 8 o`clock in the evenings and a few at 10.
On Sunday they do not open.Only some Bakerys and Cafes. And of course restaurants.

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

Shops close here on Saturdays usually at 6pm, in the time leading up to Christmas here in the cities there is usually late-night shopping until 10pm on Wednesdays. The supermarkets near me are open from 8am until 10pm Mon-Fri at least and maybe till 8pm on Saturday. One is open 24 hours a day Monday till Saturday! Fancy shopping at 2 or 3 in the morning!;)

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

That`s interresting finlaybear! :) A few day in the year we have got Midnight Shopping. But we only were there one time and then never again, because it`s so full of people that you have got no fun then.

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

The shops are mainly quiet later on but there are not as many goods on the shelves so it is not worth going unless you are a night-shift worker. It is getting darker here now, I think it might rain soon. What are you having for dinner tonight?

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

I have chicken thighs with rice and mixed vegetables. What have you got for dinner?

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

I have some left-overs from the curry I had at the restaurant with some pilau rice and stir-fry mix veg and bean sprouts.:D

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

That sounds very tasty! :) Tomorrow I `m going to cook something without meat because our friend doesen`t eat it.She`s a vegetarien. She always has got very good recipes for cooking.Maby we make a Onion pie with rosemary. That`s delicious and I think she would like it.Or do you have a nice idea for me?She also likes Fish dishes.:)

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

I think the Onion pie sounds great. One day you should make a giant Yorkshire pudding and put some mixed vegetables and potatoes braised in wine inside or some vegetarian sausages with gravy. I love Yorkshire pudding!!:D

    By nicesheep Nov 6th 2009

Sounds good finlaybear! I`ve never eat it.But I like to try out new recipes from all over the world.

    By Finlaybear Nov 6th 2009

It would look like this with the sausages. I will give you the recipe soon.
