Title: The Mysterious Tombstone Mystery
Chapter One - A Tombstone
I was hanging around the graveyard, waiting to leave. My grandmother just went up to the heavenss, and my mom was leaving flowers by her tombstone. As I wandered around, one tombstone caught my eye. I don't know why it did, probably because the tombstone had no writing on it. But then noticed that dust was everywhere on it. I brushed the dust away. Letters were reveled. It said "M. S. Dorned". "Just another tombstone," I told myself. "But it does look suspicious..." "Mark!" my mom yelled. "We're leaving, and I don't think you want to stay here!" "Coming!" I replied. I guess I had to investigate later. I turned around and ran to the car. As we were leaving, I didn't see that the tombstone started to glow red.
Chapter Two - Don the Robot
I was playing a game of 'Sorry!' with my younger brother Timmy when I heard a knock on the door. When I opened it, I saw a robot. I jumped back when it started talking. "Greetings Mark," it said. "I am Don." "How do you know my name?" I asked him gasping for breath. "Well, I am here to bring a message so of course I know your name!" Don said without any emotion. "Also, you look like a 'Mark' to me," he added. I peeked around the corner. I don't why, since my parents were at 'Galaxy Flooring'. I brought Don into my room and locked the door in case my parents came home. "So," I said. "What's the message?" "You are in danger, my friend." "What?" I asked. "I cannot tell you much, but-" He never finished his sentence, because he disappeared. "Well," I sighed, "That was odd." I went to finish my game with Sorry with Timmy, so I did not notice that a monster was outside my window.
Chapter Three - A Battle
"YAWN!" I had just woke up, but I was still very tired. I opened the curtains and I screamed. There was a 5 foot tall hairy monster outside! "ROAR!" it said. I was wide awake after that. My parents had never came back from Galaxy Flooring, so my brother and I were the only ones in the house. I was terrified, as you could probably tell. I frantically looked for a weapon that was good enough. Then I remembered something; My dad had given me a real sword before he left for Galaxy Flooring, in case something happened to us. My mom did not know about this (which is good, because she would have grounded me for sure). I scrambled outside with my sword, still wearing my race-car pajamas.. "Prepare to fight you ugly beast!" I yelled. I pictured a video game I owned like this battle. I thought I heard something say "ROUND 1! START!" In ten seconds, the monster was gone. Really. It ran the first time I swung my sword. Odd, I was thinking at the time. When I went inside my house, my brother was still sleeping! I guess he is a sound sleeper. I grabbed an apple and woke up my brother. I tried to tell him what happened, but he did not believe me. "You're a bunch of baloney," he told me. Not everyone can believe me. I decided to go to my friend Tasha's house. She believes anything I tell her. When Tasha opened the door, she grabbed my shirt and dragged me to the basement. "I have something to tell you," she said. "Something important." I thought that she was going to tell me about the new episode of 'Monster Ninjas from Mercury.' I soon found out I was wrong.
Chapter Four - Things Are Explained
Tasha let go of my shirt. "Sit," she ordered. I sat. "Tasha! You would not believe what happened this morning!" Tasha held up her hand. "I know Mark," Tasha said in almost a whisper. "Mark, danger is in store for you. You might be wondering, why? Well, I will tell you." I could not believe my ears. She knows what's going on? I didn't even reach for a cookie that was in front of me. "I will tell you something," she told me. "Your parents are always gone right Mark?" "Yes they are," I said. "Well, that's because they have to fight the monsters that are after you..." "What!?" I interrupted. "Monsters are trying to attack you because an evil king does not like your parents, and family. Including you," she explained. "So why do they only attack me?" I asked. "He hates you the most Mark. Evil King Adam hates kids named Mark, and your family. Your family angered him awhile back," "My parents are nice people!" I yelled.
Tasha ignored me. "I saw you went to the graveyard two days ago, yes?" she asked. "Yes I did, why?" "And you saw the tombstone that said 'U. S. Dorned' right?" I nodded my head yes. "This is what it should be," Tasha said. She wrote something on a piece of paper. Tasha then handed it to me. It said 'You are doomed'. I should have known the day will come. I assumed that I would have to go on a mission. And I did.
Chapter Five - Preparing
"So," I said. "Where do we do first?" "Washington of course!" Tasha exclaimed. "Of course," I said sarcastically. "How did I not know that?" My other friend, Mike, also knew what was going on. "We go to Washington together!" he yelled. Mike has a quiet voice, so he was just saying it. To me it sounded like yelling because he is so quiet. I grabbed a bag and packed what I would need. Money, candy bars, cell phone, a book, and of course my sword. Once we were all packed, I remembered my brother. "What about Timmy?" I asked Tasha. Tasha told me to be calm. "He will be staying at his friends house," Tasha said. I asked about my dog. Tasha said that he would be with Timmy. I let out a sigh of relief. 'I have nothing to worry about,' I thought. But I was wrong. A lot.
Chapter Six - The Plane of Doom
Mike, Tasha and I booked a plane to Washington. When we got on the plane, our seats were way up front. "Cool," I said. After the plane took off, a stewardess came up to me and asked what I wanted for lunch. "What do you have?" I asked her back. "Mud, liver, and more mud," she said. Her name tag said 'Sue' on it. "Look 'Sue'," I told her. "Don't you have anything else, like a sandwich?" She just stood there, staring at me. "Uh, did I say something wrong?" I asked her. "Kid, all we got is mud and liver. Make your choice. If you get me angry, something bad will happen to you," said Sue like she meant it. I gulped. "Sandwich please!" Mike said. Mike can be clueless a lot. It is like he does not have a brain at times. Suddenly, Sue was not Sue anymore. She was a monster. I forgot I had my sword until Tasha said in my ear, "Um, Mark? Remember the 'thing' you packed?" The plane was now the Plane of Doom!
