Hello everyone,

I'm pleased to report that the forums will now be open outside of office hours and apologize to those who have been affected over the past couple of weeks.

You may find a couple of new features when you start posting:

Hide: If you don't like a message and don't want to read it again, this will hide it from your view.

Report: If you see a message that is rude, offensive, or breaks a rule - report it to the moderation team and we will investigate it.

Edit: Allows you to edit your current message. This function is the same as before but with a prettier button!

New Users
New users will now have an "introductory period" where their comments are moderated. Their comments will appear in your discussions but will be hidden until they are approved, unless you actively choose to view them.

Please note if you decide to view un-moderated comments we cannot guarantee the nature of their content.



We hope that this will improve the safety of our forums without stopping you from having fun and chatting. If you have any questions, comments or problems with the system, feel free to post below or email us at web.producer@aardman.com.

Not really - all we can do is minimise the effect they have. We've put things into place today to help ease the way in which they can abuse the forum. There are more changes coming tomorrow as well to enhance this, and just make it a nicer place for everyone here.

Internet forums, especially one this popular, will always have small-minded jerks who like to try and spoil the fun for everyone. This forum is no different. We combat it as best we can.

...yes RichD i think about the time you spent for putting this mess away...usefull time for other things and i ashamed for the people who do this...hope you get succes by cleaning up the forum...maybe every account should be verified by adress and telephonnumber...i wished i can help....i will do it.

err,richd,when you post messages you should have a thing could 'Kudos' or 'points' its just you have 0 at the start and if you post alot of messages [not spam] you just increase that number,and it tells you tips on how to improve and a bar saying how many left to your next 'POINT' I just thought of it,because other forums have it!

emily - don't worry, it won't make any difference what account he tries to use. When you say he's on "your website" - which one do you mean?

legomatic - We do verify email accounts, but the thought of calling everyone who signs-up is scary. I mean imagine what talking to idiots like john663 must be like! No thank you

Satr - yes, we've seen this and hope to add something similar in the future, but it is more for the benefit of current users. It would not help when it comes to deterring spammers.

Will we ever get to upload pictures again? When you discribed something like a toy, it was sooo simple just to upload a picture of it. Say I was describing an Ampelosaurus (which most of you haven't heard of) I would just say it had big spikes on it's back and was long necked, it would of been better to show a picture.
