Hello Everybody
I’m sorry I’ve been away from the forum so long as we’ve been very busy preparing the first twenty episodes for broadcast!
I’ve been away from the studio for the last two weeks, travelling around the South West, visiting the people involved in the post production of “Shaun the Sheep”.
Mark Thomas, our composer, has a little recording studio deep in the Somerset countryside. I’ve driven over 500 miles in the last month, back and forth from Bristol. Seeing the soundtrack take shape is one of my favourite parts of the job and I think Mark has excelled himself with this series, the music is incredible.
We’ve also been doing a lot more character voice recording. Along with Justin Fletcher and John Sparkes, who play all the main character voices, the much bigger cast in series 2 has allowed members of the crew to chip in too. Rich Webber (animation director) returns as the voice of Shirley the sheep and Will Norie (sound supervisor) surprised everybody with an outstanding female impersonation, playing a new character whose identity will remain a secret for now. Even yours truly and Golly (series creator) formed an impromptu double act to play the farm ducks.
So, with the first twenty episodes ready to go, I’ve returned to the studio to finish the remaining storyboards and start editing the second half of the series. It seems a very long time since we started sifting through over six hundred episode ideas nearly two years ago when we started planning for series two. Now, at last, the end is in sight.
A few people have been asking about broadcast dates. Of course these will vary depending on which country you are in and the decision is down to the individual TV channels, not us.
However, I can reveal that the first of the new episodes will be shown from mid October on KI.KA in Germany (yes, that’s two weeks time, you lucky Germans!) and from late November in the UK.
Take care until next time.
Chris

Hi Chris, nice to see you back into the flock !
You had answered many questions, but not all....![]()
5) any date for DVD release in Germany (or England)?
6) are there another five DVDs for the complete series 2?
7) any change, to see short films from the NEW episodes here on the webiste/videos? This might be VERY GOOD!
on 18.October we can see in Germany the special about visiting Aardman and production of STS. I am very interested about to see most of the working peoples at Aardmans. And yes - you too! I had found a picture from the visit.
greetings from Germany from a big lover of the flock (and of yor all doing great jobs!)
Chris
can't wait!![]()
Chris, i saw a Shaun calendar 2010 and it look like he shows pictures from series 2. Is this true?
Look here: http://www.amazon.de/Official-Shaun-Sheep-2010-Calendar/dp/184770459X/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books-intl-de&qid=1254561056&sr=8-2

I hope to get answers from Chris about my questions.
Hah ... I was just going to post the KiKa times, but of course I was not the first ... but it is very exciting ... very!!!
Cannot wait for UK showings.... shame about the CBBC presenters interrupting the end and the fab music though!
Hi Schinagl
At the moment we can't monitor posts in other languages so although I'm sure you're not saying anything bad, could you just write in english for the time being.
Thanks!
Hey Kirsten,
that was not good to delete Schinagls posting cause he wrotes only the German titles of STS and the english translation. Note: not every German word is bad and i mean we Germans can watch very good about postings who had german language. A german title is a german title and we are able to see STS befor it aired in england. Many users will read the title and translate himself.
Pls be sure next time doing the right thing when you delete a posting caus it contens a or more german words ![]()
Chris
Hi legomatic
I am completely sure that nothing bad was said but we can't have one rule for some and another for others. The only reason is that we can't monitor other languages at the moment, German or any other so it would be great if you carry on writing in English!
Thanks
Hi Legomatic
I'm sorry but I cannot answer the rest of your questions as I'm not involved in the production of the "Shaun the Sheep" DVDs or the website (Katie may be able to help you there).
Regards
Chris

Ok, lucky the german, and lucky the english people, but what with the spanish ones...? in here we have just a bit of STS,and we love it too (or at least me and my family)i don't know even what number of season we have been seen on tv,if that was the one or the 2 or just some episodes without order. And, actually, i think was the third option, just some episodes from time to time.At least we could find three dvd's with 6,7 episodes and i don't know if they are from 1 o 2 season
.So there are my questions...
- when is realease on spanish tv this new season?
- can you tell me why are not order in the older episodes in spain?(well maybe this is just because is spain, so it is normal)![]()
- where are coming from this dvd's 1º or 2º season:
(oh gosh i've to translate the titles)![]()
"fittness with shaun"?on this one the folks do:gym, take a bath in the swimmingpool, and pigs scare to the folks for example (thats help u to know which one i mean?)
the 2º dvd is footbal with letuce, the bees, strange sounds at night (storm) the grass eater, and hairdresser.
the 3º one is saturday night fever...i can't translate all the titles cause on spain are not the same names so probably they changed.
and the last question is when & why i can't find more dvd's why in spain are not so famous STS?
i'll beee thankfull folks (you know the sheep on spanish say beee instead baaaa? even the animals speaks languages diferents:beaming![]()

hi legomatic, i just want say something i think can explaine to you and everybody why they deleted this text.
in a forum the title of this forum is very important when u want start on it.i mean, if i want write in spanish i look for a forum which title is in spanish as well cause this is the language they use for the texts cause the most of the users understand spanish, if i write in english in this forum no all can know what i mean.when u write on a forum which has a english title you need use english language...if i write spanish in here, someone would be able to answer my question? is important respect that, i think.
in my job i keep conversations with people from different countries and i have to translate it even translate is not my job, cause is the better way to keep evrybody on the chat.
i hope the german people don't be angry for this, and that who is not agree with me post their thoughts
and waht's more i hope don't mistake in the english write ![]()
