    thanks for answering!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    By chocky Apr 26th 2009

I also have a two year old daughter who runs around saying"ba ba ba"all the time. She knows when it's on the pay TV on Nick Jr. When will the second series be available in Australia?

    Thanks heaps
    Your dedicated fans

Many of the flock do not have a name we know of. Do you (director, the animators, or the writers) use names to distinguish them? I know that they differ with regard to their eye positions for example. So will the sheep that ends up with a flower pot on the head be a) a random sheep, b) sheep number 8, c) "Steve", d) the sheep with the wide eye distance?

    By kimpony Apr 28th 2009

    Good question, baaah.

    HELLO

By csadler Aardman Staff May 5th 2009

    baah -

We can tell the generic flock members apart by the shape of their heads; there are four types- long, square, pear shaped and "weird". The weird looking sheep was going to feature more as an individual character in series one but became just regular flock member in the end.

    Ducki -

The cat is called "Pidsley" and the goat is called "Mowermouth".

A shot is counted every time the camera moves position. e.g We may open the episode with a wide shot of the flock grazing in the field (shot 1), then cut to a close up of Shaun reading a comic (shot 2), etc.

when will the new shaun the sheep 2 come on in Australia
i have all the first lot on dvd and want to know when the second set will be out

By csadler Aardman Staff May 5th 2009

DVD availability in North America -

There will be new (region 1) DVD releases in June, August, November and February (2010). This should make the whole of series one available to you.

By csadler Aardman Staff May 5th 2009

About broadcast dates for series two -

I'm really sorry but I can't give out accurate information about that at the present time as it is very much dependant on individual broadcasters in different countries.(...and "Shaun the Sheep" is shown in over 70 countries world wide!)
I don't want to make wild guesses and leave you all disapointed if I'm wrong.
When I get a more reliable idea then I'll make sure you are notified as soon as possible!.

    By cutieRuby May 5th 2009

hi guys what you talking about?

    By michiganfrog May 5th 2009

woohoo! I'm so happy there will be more of shaun in canada!

    By Dobbydoodle May 6th 2009

does shaun go off the farm in the new episodes?

    By Idril May 7th 2009

    Chris,
Thanks so much for the update on the DVD releases in America. I can't wait to see more of Shaun, Timmy and Bitzer.
Please thank everyone involved at Aardman for making such a fun series. It has given us a lot of joy.

    By wghtmf May 9th 2009

Will there be any episodes starring Wallace and/or Gromit?

By Shirly The sheep May 10th 2009

Thanks for the info!:-(|) Honestly, my favourite character is a tie between Shirley and Timmy!

    By baaah May 15th 2009

I just saw the trailer for the American DVD - Off the Baa! There are a couple new shots in there aren't there?

    By mitzie May 16th 2009

why can i not play youghurt mayhem tell me please i can play it at my school but not at home

    By ratrp May 20th 2009

    thanks

    By ratrp May 21st 2009

that thing about the shots is saying that each shot is around 5 seconds long which seems short but when you watch and old episode it surprisingly is about right

    By ratrp May 22nd 2009

apart from being in 2009 is there any more details you can give out about the shooting

    By Ducki May 23rd 2009

Thanks Csadler you answered all my questions:D
But ive got more in an older post you said you could tell the "genetics" of the sheep by the shape of thier head. can you post some picture of the different shaped heads

    By Ducki May 23rd 2009

How many frames per second do you shoot? When i make stop motion i use 8 fps but because youre pros do you use more?
Whith the dvd that has all off series one is that just one dvd with all the episodes or is it like a set of dvds?
how many episodes were there in series one. 20 or 40? i was thinking of buying the complete series on dvd but its $36.50au which is like 17.98euro anyway is ther going to be a complete series 2 dvd set. and if there is you should put all the shaun the sheep episode ever made and put them on a special collecters disc id buy that for sure lol.:D

    By legomatic May 24th 2009

    To Ducki

    1) maybe i have read in a other posting about 20 - 30 frames per second, so the animation is very soft and looks really good.
    2) Series one are 5 single-DVD Boxes.
    3) Series one had 40 Episodes.
    4) There is a complete box set of all 5 DVDs (all 40 episodes) on Amazone (calles complet first Series).
Its much cheeper than the single DVDs.
    5) Maybe Series two hat 5 DVD too and a few month later there is a 5 DVD Box set going out.
    6) Maybe (i am sure!) there will be a 10 DVD Box set (the complete STS series 1 & 2).
    7) I hope, that Aardman NEVER stop production about SHAUN! Thats the best series ever (and Timmy Time!).

    Hope, my answers are helpfully.
    regards, Christian
PS: the first DVD of TIMMY TIME (called "Snapshoot Timmy") is anounced for October. Not delivery this time for Germany - so bad !!!

By csadler Aardman Staff May 29th 2009

Ducki - We shoot 25fps but as a rough guide, we only move the characters every other frame (called "shooting on doubles")
Dobbydobble - Yes, Shaun will sometimes venture away from the farm in series 2.
wghtmf - I think it would be great to see Wallace and Gromit reunited with Shaun. I'd especially like to see Wallace and the farmer together or Bitzer and Gromit!.. Sadly, it's not going to happen in this series but fingers crossed for the future!

    By Ducki May 29th 2009

wow every one is answering my questions this is great:D

    By Lucky Ducky 13 May 30th 2009

Any chance of a full-length Shaun the Sheep movie?

    By kimpony May 30th 2009

    I wish!

By csadler Aardman Staff Jun 1st 2009

mitzie - Hi there. I think you're in the wrong forum, this one is for questions about making the series.
Good luck with your yoghurt problem though!

By csadler Aardman Staff Jun 1st 2009

Lucky Ducky 13 - Not at the moment I'm afraid. The idea has been discussed informally however. I think the biggest problem would be how to make a feature film with no dialogue sound appealing to the public...

    By michiganfrog Jun 2nd 2009

it would be great to have a full-length shaun movie!
it wouldn't be that hard to make a kids movie without dialogue, I know when I was a kid my favourite movie called snowman was entirely silent not even the noises as in shaun

    By andjames Jun 5th 2009

i got a question when wiil it be comeing out? /:(

By csadler Aardman Staff Jun 9th 2009

andjames - Please look at my post dated May 5th.

    By baaah Jun 19th 2009

"Sadly, it's not going to happen in this series but fingers crossed for the future!"

I liked to read that very much. And I am not refering to the first part of the sentence. I like the idea that there is a future that goes beyond episodes 41-80. You are all really doing an outstanding job. I firmly believe that Shaun will be a timeless classic for many many years to come. Thanks!

    By deeda Jun 21st 2009

Given the time constraints of filming scheduals, it would be assumed that some of the characters movements are animated not molded.
How do you decide which movements to animate?
Do you enjoy working with the models or the animation more?
Most likely both would have their advantages?

By csadler Aardman Staff Jun 22nd 2009

Hi deeda - I'm not sure what you mean when you say "animated not molded".
    The entire series is animated.

    By shaunfan09 Jun 22nd 2009

    :)

can you imagne wallace meeting the farmer, they wouldnt understand each other!

    By michiganfrog Jun 22nd 2009

are you ever going to have a shaun episode where wallace and gromit go to the farm? or the sheep to town?

    By deeda Jun 24th 2009

    ahhh, no worries.
i thought it was partially still frame photogaphy and partially animated. Looks like I still have ALOT to learn about shaun n friends :)

By csadler Aardman Staff Jun 24th 2009

deeda - Hmm, OK. I think terminology might be the issue here. The series is made using the stop frame method which is a form of animation. There are some post visual effects but no CGI this time.
