    Welcome to The Rivals thread! we easily hold the largest amount of messages on the shaun the sheep website and hold over twenty-seven thousand messages and over ninety-one thousand views! Phew! Start posting!!!

    Before you post please obide to the following rules:
    1. No arguments please because I don't want this thread locked.
    2. Do not post really long messages saying Hi and then thousands of enters- it freezes up my computer and is only one message- this is the same for messages repeating the same thing millions of times.
    3. ALWAYS abide the House Rules. This includes swearing, racism, provoking others and giving out personal details.
    4. Finally, it may say that no "Biggest Thread Ever's" are allowed; however this thread was made before the ban and therefore it is perfectly acceptable to spam and make this thread increasingly larger!


    History of "the Rivals Thread"

    This thread was created a LONG time ago, way back in late 2007 (December 12 2007 if you look at the date of this message :) ). Anyway, back in those days there wasn't so much security or rules that the site has now. For example: The "moderation messages" didn't exist back then and neither did the "Things we don't allow on this forum" thread. Meaning people COULD make the biggest thread ever.
    Anyway; back in those days; in mid November caitc95 created the first ever "Biggest thread ever" thread. This thread attracted a lot of users and spam and quickly reached 500 posts (a LOT back then - believe me). Meanwhile, while that thread was growing and growing, I decided that I wanted some more action! I wanted there to be TWO "Biggest thread ever's" so I created this thread. Exactly the same title, word for word but I added "THE RIVALS!" to it to show that we were rivalling against caitc's thread. The reaction was INSANE. I had many friends back then - such as: Bitzer The Dog, asterix, dan123, Nah, jodyblue123, DS99 and many others... They responded brilliantly to the thread and posted THOUSANDS of messages on the first two days. We quickly overtook the original caitc95 thread and became the "Biggest thread ever". The response by some of caitc's friends weren't too happy. One example included somebody spamming "Post on caitc95's thread" hundreds of times! What was the point? when it only contributed even more to our thread!?! :D
    Anyway, after a few days we were at around 4,800 posts and asterix proved to give us the biggest posting spree ever... Back in those days, you could super-spam post by simply posting your message and rapidly clicking the post message button over and over and over again. Giving you hundreds of messages per minutes. (You can't do this anymore). He, along with Bitzer The Dog posted over ONE HUNDRED PAGES (96-206) thats over FIVE THOUSAND MESSAGES) In one night! The 10,000th message was posted by Bitzer the Dog. I went to sleep nearing the 5,000 total, woke up with over 10,000!!!
    After that, we increased even more, sometimes a thousand messages a day; sometimes only a few hundred. But eventually we hit the 20,000 mark. It was bobisfunny whom hit this total. Another great feat and we started to grow quickly again, hitting 23,000 within a few days. But then things slowed down... I started to not go on this website so much. At first the growth continued at its normal rate; just hitting 24,000. But after that we would've been lucky to get 10 messages a day! I did return occasionally, just to see how people were getting on - but only for an hour or so. The thread was sent to the bottom of the pile (I think it reached page 30 at one point). Being bumped ever now and again. Then it was mysteriously brought back and revived by the current members! It started to grow again and hit the 25,000 mark! it increased in size again and again and then I returned.
    I saw it at about 25,500 and I worked alongside concon, poopstick, timmythesheep848, wghtmf, ajmole and many others to rapidly increase the size of the thread. Getting closer and closer to the thirty-thousand mark. The thread once again became hugely popular, rarely outside the top 10 most recently responded threads.
    And then the day arrived. Started out at about 29,200 and it gradually rose and rose. Before finally concon posted the 30,000th message (lol I've NEVER so far posted a 10k message - maybe 40,000);) The celebrations went under way but more were to come: me and timmythesheep848 started to refresh the page rapidly to acquire the 100,000 view mark. And we did! The first ever 6- firgure view thread!!!
    A few days later, on the 8th March 2010, The Shaun the Sheep general chat board hit 500,000! and I'm proud to say it was posted by none other than concon on this very thread!!!

    And now the thread continues to grow and grow! I will update the history whenever I need to, make sure YOU make a contribution to Shaun the Sheep's largest thread!
