I thought about getting the Nintendo DS and the Shaun game. This would be my first game. Will it be easy to learn?

I ordered my DS Lite yesterday. Oh boy! Now I just have to wait for Shaun to show up.

Hello everyone, happy Friday! Here's the first batch of answers for you. Remember, we will be answering questions all the way up until launch, so keep posting them here!

When does it come out?
Shaun will be released at the end of September.

How much will it cost and where will it be available?
Suggested retail price is around £24.99 in the UK, €34.99 across Europe and $29.99 in the US. Shaun DS game will be available in all major stores

How difficult is the game/what age is it meant for?
The game has been designed with children aged 4 - 11 in mind but the intuitive pick-up and play gaming appeals to players of all ages while delivering the sheep humour the show is known for through funny menu titles, adventure gameplay, cute character animations and “micro” games that players of all ages are sure to enjoy.

It has been classified 3+ by PEGI & rated E for Everyone by the ESRB.

Will it be available in other countries apart from UK and US?
Yes! Shaun DS game will be available in across many European countries, Australia, South Africa, Canada and Latin America

How long did it take to make the game?
We began development last year around Halloween, starting with brainstorming ideas. We went through quite a few iterations before everyone was happy with the story and the main gameplay ideas. Luckily, Aardman was very helpful in giving us not only ideas, but assets to look over for inspiration.

Can you play as other characters apart from Shaun?
Players will play as Shaun and interact with all the characters from the show as they play through Story and Collection modes. They will have the opportunity to play as Timmy, Shirley and Bitzer in Minigame Mode and in microgames.

Will there be unlockable areas to the game and/or game codes for secret areas?
Yes! We brought Shaun’s favourite little baby chickens into the game to help Shaun unlock 8 minigames and 8 collectible slide puzzles. The chicks are hidden all over the farm. When Shaun finds one and takes it back to its real mum, she will unlock a minigame or slide puzzle for Shaun.
